In plain English: Psalm 69 is the second crucifixion-psalm. Six different New Testament books reach back into these 36 verses to quote them as Christ-fulfillment: zeal of the temple, hated without cause, gall and vinegar at the cross, table become a snare, and the verse Peter uses to fill Judas's empty office in Acts 1. The English gematria turns the surface story into the engineering blueprint. The full psalm sums to 31,237 — a sealed five-digit prime: the Christological suffering is integer-irreducible, cannot be factored, cannot be split. And that prime is exactly 31,000 + 237, where 237 is the Psa 22:16 phrase PIERCED MY HANDS AND MY FEET and 31 is the verse-count of Psa 22 itself — Psa 69's seal contains its sister-psalm's crucifixion verse encoded inside the prime. The chapter-number 69 is the most loaded chapter integer in the Psalter: JEREMIAH = WORM = SCORN = INCENSE = JEHOVAH = 69 (five-way lock — the suffering-prophet's name = the worm-self-naming = the divine name = the chapter). Two within-psalm verse-sum twins seal the structure: v1 = v11 = 522 = 3 × 174 (three-fold LOVINGKINDNESS cap), and v16 = v26 = 1089 = 33² (the age of Christ at crucifixion squared — and 33 = GATE). The terminal verse v36 sums to 888 — the Greek isopsephy of IESOUS (Jesus). And the 97-factor test (the imprecation-prime signature) fires once: the REPROACH movement v19-21 = 3007 = 31 × 97, putting VIOLENT-SERPENT-SON-OF-MAN inside the very verse that delivers the gall and vinegar.

Key lock — TO THE CHIEF MUSICIAN = JESUS OF NAZARETH = MY THROAT IS DRIED = 188. The same superscription-prefix that opens Psa 22 ("the Cross-Psalm") opens Psa 69 at 188 — the gematria of Jesus of Nazareth, the very titulus the Romans pinned above the cross. In Psa 69 this integer recurs inside the psalm at v3: MY THROAT IS DRIED = 188. The superscription says "to Jesus of Nazareth," and the third-verse complaint says "my throat is dried" — at the same integer. The chief-musician title and the parched throat of the suffering servant are one number.

The author-frame integer routes through eye-failure, eye-darkening, and name-loving — the entire optical/affectional arc of the psalm runs at the integer of its own author.

Psa 69 contains two pairs of verses whose total gematria values are exactly equal. This is rare; most psalms have zero or one such pair. Psa 69 has two, and both are perfect-square or sealed-cap factorizations.

Reading: The opening petition ("save me, the waters are at my soul") and the eleventh-verse desolation ("I became a proverb") are each composed of three sealed cap-frequencies — three lovingkindnesses, three seven-thunders, three showstoppers. The drowning-cry and the public-mockery are gematria-equivalent and both triple-capped. The lovingkindness Christ doesn't yet see in v1, and the proverb-status he is reduced to in v11, are the same integer because the sealed-cap is what the verse contains underneath either reading. 174 is the sealed cap-frequency, zero KJV verses, eight distinct KJVEL words. Psa 69 carries the cap invisibly at v1 and v11, three deep, before the cap-word itself appears at v16 (LOVINGKINDNESS = 174) and v20 (FULL OF HEAVINESS = 174). The mercy-petition (v16) and the third-person Christ-as-victim verse (v26) are integer-identical and both equal 33 squared.
Architecture: 33 = GATE = BLAME. 33² = 1089. The age at which Christ was crucified — 33 — is the square root of the integer that locks v16 and v26.
Reading: v16 contains the cap-word LOVINGKINDNESS (=174) and the answer-verb TURN UNTO ME. v26 names the persecutors of the one God has smitten — a third-person Christ-witness. The two verses share a perfect square. The age-of-crucifixion squared = the integer at which the petition and the persecution-witness are equal. The petition to be heard at the GATE² and the witness that the smitten-one is still being persecuted at the GATE² are one integer. Psa 69 frames the cross from both sides: God's mercy and the persecutor's mockery, at 33² each.
The two within-psalm verse-sum twins (v1=v11=522 and v16=v26=1089) are spaced 10 verses apart in each pair, and 15 verses between centers. The psalm has two embedded mirror-pairs, one in the cry-and-sackcloth opening movement and one in the mercy-and-persecution middle. Beyond v26 no further verse-sum twins occur. The first 26 verses are internally symmetrical; the final 10 verses (v27-v36) carry the resolution unrepeated.

Psa 69's sealed prime encodes Psa 22's central crucifixion phrase as its residue mod 1000, multiplied by Psa 22's own verse-count. The two cross-psalms are linked at the prime-encoding level: Psa 69's irreducibility carries Psa 22's piercing. The Christological suffering of Psa 69 is mathematically sealed containing Psa 22:16.
A prime sum means the psalm cannot be cleanly divided into structurally equal sub-movements at the gematria layer. Psa 69's suffering is atomic. The 36 verses cannot be reduced to a smaller repeating unit. From psalm_139_followups_1_2_3.md (bonus finding): "The whole psalm is integer-irreducible. No factorization. The suffering of the suffering-servant is at a sealed integer of the corpus."
Compare: Psa 22 (the Cross-Psalm) sums to 27,238 = 2 × 13 × 1047, not a prime — Psa 22 is structurally divisible because it has the lament-to-praise pivot at v22 that splits it. Psa 69 has no such pivot — the praise enters at v30 but the lament-and-imprecation continues to spike through v28; the structure is more diffuse. The gematria responds: Psa 22 factors, Psa 69 does not.

Lock (v5): MY SINS = HABITATION = 99 = FIRMAMENT = UPRIGHT = CAST OUT = OLIVE OIL = CRY ALOUD. The Christological problem of v5 ("thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee") sits at the same integer as v25's HABITATION (the Acts 1:20 Judas-bishoprick verse) and the menorah-OLIVE-OIL integer . The alien-from-brethren integer is the strange-fire-priest integer. Christological reading: Christ became alien to his brethren at the integer of those struck blind for offering strange fire — bearing their sin.

This is the central crucifixion-fulfillment verse of the psalm and the most directly-fulfilled OT verse at Christ's death after Psa 22:18 (parted garments). All four gospels reference it: Mt 27:34 (vinegar mingled with gall before the crucifixion), Mt 27:48 / Mk 15:36 (sponge of vinegar at the death), Jn 19:28-30 (I thirst and the vessel full of vinegar). The verse delivers the fulfillment formula — Christ says "I thirst" in John 19:28 "that the scripture might be fulfilled" (referring to Psa 69:21 directly).
