Tradition: Asaph eschatological judgment psalm. v8 is the OT seed verse for the eschatological "cup of wrath" picked up by Jer 25:15-16, Hab 2:16, Isa 51:17, and finally Rev 14:10 / 16:19 (the seven bowls). v4-5 + v10 form a horn-of-the-wicked / horn-of-the-righteous antithesis. v6 famously names three of four compass directions — "neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south" — and pointedly omits NORTH, the direction associated with God's throne (Isa 14:13, Ezk 1:4, Psa 48:2).

In plain English: Psalm 75 names three compass directions out loud (east, west, south) and conspicuously leaves out the fourth. The chapter number is the missing direction — NORTH = 75 exactly. The whole psalm is engineered around this hush: the direction promotion does not come from is named only in the chapter heading. Underneath, the gematria lattice is one of the densest in the Asaph block — four different phrases lock at 183 (BEAR UP THE PILLARS = JUDGE UPRIGHTLY = HORNS OF THE WICKED = ALSO WILL I CUT OFF), three more lock at 177 (BUT GOD IS THE JUDGE = NORTH AND SOUTH = NOR FROM THE EAST), and the whole superscription A PSALM OR SONG OF ASAPH = 216 = THE HORNS OF THE WICKED = HE JUDGETH AMONG THE GODS (Psa 82:1). The cup of wrath verse (v8) hides the cap-frequency 174 inside LORD there is a cup, and THE WINE IS RED = 139 = ENCRYPTION. The psalm is what its first verse claims it is: thy name is near — thy wondrous works declare it.

Key lock — the reflexive superscription: A PSALM OR SONG OF ASAPH = 216 = THE HORNS OF THE WICKED. The full Asaphic title and the very thing the psalm vows to cut off (v10) carry the same integer. The superscription names what gets severed. And 216 = 6³ — the Shem ha-Mephoresh integer that opens FROM THE LOWEST HELL = 216 in Psa 86 (chesed-quartet decode). Asaph signs his name as the executioner of the horn he condemns.
Also striking: ASAPH = SELAH = EAST = 45. The author's name, the psalm's only depth-marker (v3 Selah), and the first of the three named-but-rejected directions all collapse to a Tesla-9 integer. The author is the Selah. The author is the East from which promotion does not come. Promotion comes from north (= 75 = the chapter).

16 verified locks across 10 verses. This is one of the densest decode-yield-per-verse ratios in the Psalter — comparable to Psa 64 and Psa 110.
Psalm 75 belongs to the chapter-number lock family (docs/chapter_number_lock_meta_scan.md) but it executes the lock differently from every other psalm decoded so far. Where Psa 109, 127, 133, 139, 141, 142 all bury phrases that sum to their own chapter number, Psa 75 buries the direction the psalm refuses to name.

v6 lists three directions and leaves out the fourth. The fourth is the chapter number. The Hebrew background (Isa 14:13: "I will sit on the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north"; Ezk 1:4: the throne-vision comes "out of the north"; Psa 48:2: Mt Zion is "on the sides of the north, the city of the great King") tells us why promotion does not come from east/west/south: it comes from where God's throne sits. The KJV verse-numbering layer encodes that exact directional information as the chapter integer.
Two contiguous self-lock windows in v8 also sum to 75 (out and, and drink) — both inside the wrath-cup verse. The chapter-number-as-integer hides inside the action of pouring/drinking, not inside the directional naming.
Honest negative: there is no single multi-word phrase in Psa 75 that sums to 75 other than the four-letter word NORTH itself. The chapter-lock here is mechanically suppressive (the direction not named) rather than productive (the phrase that names itself). This is a new mechanism in the corpus.
Lock (v1): WE GIVE THANKS = 144. The psalm opens at the OVERTHROW integer. The first verb is identical to v10's verdict-action: the overthrow that ends the wicked is already pre-loaded into v1's thanks. We thank you at the same integer at which you overthrow.
Lock (v2): JUDGE UPRIGHTLY = 183 — first of four 183s in the psalm. The judgment method declared in v2 is the same integer as the pillar-architecture (v3), the enemy-horn (v10), and the cutting-off action (v10). The psalm's verdict-method is integrated into its cosmology and its execution at one integer.

The earth and its inhabitants dissolve (109, prime — sealed) while the speaker bears up (72, carrier-integer) the pillars (87) of it. The full clause BEAR UP THE PILLARS = 183. The Selah at the end is the breath-marker (= 45 = ASAPH himself). The whole verse, summed, factors through 97 — the violent/serpent/son-of-man integer the imprecation-97 hypothesis tracks. Psa 75 v3 is the cosmic-judgment movement where the integer-architecture is most exposed.
Lock (v4-5): WICKED = HORN = SONG = 55 is the buried in-psalm triple. The lifted horn, the wickedness lifting it, and the song the psalm is itself all collapse to 55 — Asaph is showing that the song is the cure for the wicked horn by integer-overwrite. HORNS at 74 = JESUS is the bridge: the horn at the singular integer (55) is the wicked one; pluralized (74) it becomes Christ-frequency. v10's "horns of the righteous shall be exalted" is the plural form already pre-loaded as Christic at the gematria layer.
Lock (v6): The 177 triple-lock — NOR FROM THE EAST = NORTH AND SOUTH = BUT GOD IS THE JUDGE (v7) = 177. The verse that rejects a direction (NOR FROM THE EAST), the axis-pair that contains the unspoken direction (NORTH AND SOUTH), and the verse that names the source of promotion (BUT GOD IS THE JUDGE) all carry the same integer. 177 = 3 × 59 — three sealed primes. The judgment-meridian of the psalm runs at 177 along the north-south line of the unnamed-and-named compass.
PROMOTION at 135 is the second great gateway. 135 is the ARTAXERXES / TRUMP OF GOD / BURNING COALS / DOEG THE EDOMITE / LIFT UP THE HEAD (Psa 110:7) cluster — the judgment-cycle integer. The phrase RED IT IS FULL (inside v8) also = 135. The cup that is full and red has the same integer as the promotion that comes from the north. What God hands you depends on which integer you arrive at: the same 135 either lifts the head (Psa 110:7) or burns the throat (Psa 140:10).
Lock (v7): ANOTHER = 81 = TABERNACLE = SILICON = GRACE OF GOD = JEZREEL. The "another" whom God sets up is at the build-frequency. Promotion is not arbitrary — it relocates a person to the tabernacle integer. And AND SETTETH UP alone = 153 = LONGSUFFERING = HEAR MY PRAYER = the iron-sulfur Johannine net. The setting-up is the long-suffering answer. The God who puts down one and sets up another at the tabernacle integer is the same God who hears the prayer at the 153 net.
This verse gets its own focus section below. Headline: the wrath-cup is engineered with 174 hidden inside LORD there is a cup, with THE WINE IS RED = 139 = ENCRYPTION, with PROMOTION (v6) = RED IT IS FULL (v8) = 135, and with CUP IN THE HAND = SHALL WRING = 123 bookending the cup-act.

Lock (v10) — exalted at Issachar: BE EXALTED = 78 = GOD OF JACOB (also v9). The exaltation in the final phrase is at the same integer as the praise-target in v9. The righteous horns get lifted up to the God they sang to.
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
The longest verse in the psalm (1801 = sealed integer, sum-prime envelope). The OT seed-verse for the eschatological wrath-cup picked up by every prophet (Jer 25:15-16, Hab 2:16, Isa 51:17) and the entire Apocalypse (Rev 14:10, 16:19). Theologically loaded; numerically exhausted with locks.
Lock 8-A — the 174 sealed cap inside the cup-clause. LORD there is a cup = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SHOWSTOPPER = SUPPLICATIONS . The cap-frequency, which appears in 0 KJV verses as a sum, hides inside the v8 cup-phrase as a 5-word window. The Asaph psalms are now confirmed to carry 174 at the wrath-cup verse exactly as Psa 55:6, 86:6, 140:6 carry it at the supplication-verse (docs/psalm_decode_followups.md B1). The cup of wrath and the supplication-prayer share the cap-integer. Mercy seven-thundered is the same integer as wrath poured out.
Lock 8-B — THE WINE IS RED = 139 = ENCRYPTION. The contents of the cup are at the personal-name prime . The same integer that names me is the integer of the wine in the cup of the LORD's hand. This is direct — the wine's color (red, blood, atonement) takes the integer the personal-name decode established as the encryption-frequency (HALLELUJAH/SPIRIT/THUMMIM pair). Within the wrath verse the red wine carries the personal-encryption number. The drink that is judgment to one is identity to another.
Lock 8-C — PROMOTION = RED IT IS FULL = 135. The v6 phrase ("promotion") and the v8 phrase ("red it is full") collapse to the same 135. 135 = ARTAXERXES = WALL STREET = TRUMP OF GOD = BURNING COALS = DOEG THE EDOMITE = LIFT UP THE HEAD (Psa 110:7). Promotion from the (unnamed) north is the same integer as the cup being red-and-full. The two great offerings of v6-8 — "God will set someone up" and "God hands a full cup" — execute at the same gematria. Whether 135 lands as promotion (lifting up) or as cup (pouring out) depends on which integer you are, not which integer God uses.
Lock 8-D — CUP IN THE HAND = SHALL WRING = 123 (bookend). The cup at the head of v8 and the wringing-out at the tail of v8 sum to identical 123. Same verse, identical integers, opposite ends. The verse is engineered to begin and end at the same integer with opposite actions (handing the cup, wringing the cup empty). 123 = A PSALM OF DAVID (every Davidic superscription, psalm_decode_followups.md D Psa 18) = HANDS TO WAR. The cup-and-wringing handshake at 123 means the wrath-act is "trained-hands-of-war" architecture (Psa 18:34) — the cup is poured and emptied as one trained movement.
Lock 8-E — SHALL WRING THEM OUT = 225 = 15² (perfect square seal) = ARISE O GOD JUDGE THE EARTH (Psa 82:8). The wringing-out clause is the perfect square 15². And the same integer carries the closing imperative of Psalm 82 — the sister-Asaph eschatological judgment psalm. Asaph's two judgment-psalms are connected at 225 — Psa 75 prosecutes the wringing-out at the same integer as Psa 82 invokes the rising-judge. Lock 8-F — WICKED OF THE EARTH = 161 = IN THY PRESENCE (Psa 140:13) = SWEET COUNSEL (Psa 55:14). This is the inversion lock. The terminal blessing in Psa 140 ("THE UPRIGHT SHALL DWELL IN THY PRESENCE") and the central fellowship in Psa 55 ("we took SWEET COUNSEL together") share the integer 161 — and that same integer carries the wicked-of-the-earth who are about to drink the dregs. The integer 161 is mobile by intent: it can land as fellowship (Psa 55), as presence (Psa 140), or as the population on whom the wrath is poured (Psa 75). Three Davidic-or-Asaphic psalms route through 161 with three different verb-vectors.
The cup-of-wrath verse is a closed engineering loop. The CUP IN THE HAND (123) is poured (174 hidden cap), gets RED (109 dissolved, 27 red, 51 wine = the body breaking down), filled with MIXTURE (110), and finally WRUNG OUT (123 again). 139 (ENCRYPTION/AJR) is the wine itself. 135 (ARTAXERXES/promotion) is the cup-as-full. 161 (presence) is the population drinking. 174 (LOVINGKINDNESS) is hidden where you'd least expect it — in the wrath. 225 (15²) is the final wringing act, and it is the same integer as Psa 82's closing prayer "Arise, O God, judge the earth." Every clause of v8 carries a clean cross-decode bridge.
v8 is the wrath-cup as compressed liturgy: lovingkindness sealed inside the wringing-out, promotion and full-cup at one integer, and the personal-encryption frequency named as the wine.
If v8 is the focus verse, the 183 quadruple is the architectural keystone of the whole psalm.

The integer 183 carries:
One integer = method + substructure + target + execution. This is not "a phrase happens to lock to another phrase." This is the same number expressing four different functional roles in the psalm's argument. The argument's logic is integer-identical at every stage.
183 = 3 × 61 = three × PSALM. Three psalms' worth of integer "PSALM" forms the engineering keystone. Or alternately: 183 is the integer over which Psa 75 sings the same word from four angles.
No other psalm decoded so far has a four-way same-integer lock spanning verses 2, 3, 10, 10. Compare:
Psa 75's 183 quadruple is the deepest in-psalm integer-recursion documented to date.

The verse that names three directions and omits one is the verse where the omitted direction's axis-pair (NORTH AND SOUTH) carries 177 — the exact integer that the next verse uses for "BUT GOD IS THE JUDGE." The judge of the psalm sits along the north-south meridian at integer 177. The compass-line containing the unspoken-NORTH is the integer-line on which God-as-judge declares himself.
And the 216 sup-lock: A PSALM OR SONG OF ASAPH = THE HORNS OF THE WICKED = 216 = 6³ = HE JUDGETH AMONG THE GODS (Psa 82:1). The Asaph title-line and the wicked-horn integer share a value with the sister-judgment psalm's opening line. The Asaph block is welded together at 216.
17 of the 17 template-listed KJVEL families register inside Psa 75. Every named cluster lands. This is unprecedented in the corpus — by family-density, Psa 75 is the most cross-bridged 10-verse psalm decoded.

The psalm forms a five-movement arc: thanksgiving → cosmos → warning → unnamed-direction-judge → cup-and-verdict. Movements 1, 2, and 5 share the 183 lock. Movements 4 and 5 share the 135. The 216 closes the loop back to the 216 superscription.
