In plain English: Psalm 50 is the chapter where God walks out of the temple and refuses the meat. Asaph stages a courtroom: the Mighty God speaks (v1), shines from Zion (v2), comes with fire (v3), gathers his saints (v5), and then in v9–13 dismantles the entire sacrifice economy — "I will take no bullock out of thy house... If I were hungry, I would not tell thee." Verse 14 is the pivot: OFFER UNTO GOD THANKSGIVING; AND PAY THY VOWS UNTO THE MOST HIGH — the verb stops being kill and becomes thank. Key lock — PSALM OF ASAPH = GLORIFIETH ME = 127. The chapter's superscription (127 prime) is the integer of v23's terminal verb — "Whoso offereth praise GLORIFIETH ME." The chapter integer is the substitution itself. Verse 13's FLESH (50) is replaced by verse 14's OFFER (50) at the same number — the verb-direction is the only thing that changes. Three biblical figures stand on the same integer: Paul (the apostle of substitution-by-cross), Herod (the throne that substitutes by killing infants), and Rebekah (the mother who taught Jacob to substitute kid-flesh for human flesh). The chapter integer hosts the substitution-template across three covenants.
Asaph = Selah = Pit = 45. Same as Psa 73 (where Asaph IS the buried integer because no Selah falls). Here in Psa 50, Selah DOES fall — exactly once, at v6 ("for God is judge himself. Selah."). The buried marker is placed at the verse where God is judge — Asaph signs his own pit-integer at the verse of divine judgment. The author-pit and the verse-judgment are one integer 45.

The chapter integer 50 is the substitution-template integer across three covenants: Rebekah substitutes kid-flesh for human inheritance (Gen 27, patriarchal); Herod substitutes infant-flesh for political stability (Matt 2, anti-incarnation); Paul installs thanksgiving-as-substitution (Acts–Phil, post-cross). The same integer hosts all three — what differs is the verb's direction. Rebekah's substitution gains the blessing (good direction). Herod's substitution forfeits the kingdom (bad direction). Paul's substitution is the resolution — no flesh, only thanks — the verb finally points the right way.
This is the gematria warrant for the New Covenant ethic of thanksgiving-as-sacrifice. Psalm 50 prescribes the verb at v14 (OFFER thanksgiving); Paul carries it to the gentiles at his name-integer; Rebekah and Herod stand at the integer as the failed prior modes.
The Jubilee bridge: Leviticus 25:8-13 commands the fiftieth year as the year of LIBERTY THROUGHOUT THE LAND (Lev 25:10) — the year all flesh-slaves are released. PAUL=50=the apostle who tells the Galatians (5:1) that Christ has made them free, calling the integer back to its Jubilee root. The chapter integer is also the Jubilee-year integer. Psalm 50 is the psalm of the fiftieth year, sung by Asaph at the Asaph-collection opener.

Lock (v3): NOT KEEP SILENCE = HEAR MY PRAYER (Psa 55:1) = WAR IN HIS HEART (Psa 55:21) = 153. The God-who-will-not-keep-silence sits at the integer David asks God for in Psa 55. Asaph's God answers Psa 55:1 at the integer level — God will not keep silence, because David asked Him to hear.
Lock (v3): TEMPESTUOUS = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SUPPLICATIONS = SEVEN THUNDERS. 174 is the sealed cap-frequency. The theophanic storm of v3 sits at the humming-cap integer — God's tempest is gematria-identical to lovingkindness, supplications, and the seven thunders of Rev 10:3. God's tempestuous coming IS chesed-at-cap. The storm is mercy at the ceiling.
Lock (v4 → v9): HIS PEOPLE = NO BULLOCK = 105. The integer of his people (whom God judges, v4) is the integer of no bullock (which God refuses, v9). The people God judges and the sacrifice God rejects share an integer. The people themselves are the substitute-bullock. The judgment-on-people in v4 reads, at integer, as the refusal-of-bullock in v9 — God refuses the animal because the people are what He is after. (Cross-bridge: 105 = SAVIOUR — Section 8.)
Lock (v5): SACRIFICE = JOSEPH = EGYPT = DOTH GOD = 73. From psalm_73_decode.md: 73 is the chapter integer of the sister Asaph psalm (which carries JOSEPH=EGYPT=DOTH GOD all at 73). Here in Psa 50:5, the word SACRIFICE sits at 73 — meaning the sacrifice Asaph commands here in v5 is gematria-housed at the chapter-integer of his other Asaph psalm. The two Asaph psalms cross-reference: Psa 73's chapter-integer 73 is the v5 sacrifice-word of Psa 50, and Psa 50's chapter-integer 50 is the OFFER-verb of v14. Asaph cross-wires his own two psalms at their chapter integers.
Lock (v5): MY SAINTS = CHIEF MUSICIAN (Psa 55 superscription) = CALL UPON GOD (Psa 55) = LEVITICUS = 120. From Psa 55: 120 = CHIEF MUSICIAN = CALL UPON GOD = SOUL IN PEACE. The "my saints" Asaph gathers in v5 = the Chief Musician of Psa 55 superscription = the book of Leviticus (the Jubilee-instructions book). Three identities — the gathered saints are the chief-musician-class, instructed by the Jubilee book.
Lock (v6): SELAH at v6 = 45 = ASAPH. The single Selah of Psa 50 falls at "for God is judge himself." The author-pit-integer is placed at the verse of self-judgment. Asaph buries himself at the integer of God is judge himself — author and verdict at one number. Compare psalm_140_decode.md's three-Selah-three-pit architecture: Psa 50 needs only one pit because the entire psalm is the judgment and Asaph signs it at the central judge-verse.
Lock (v7): I AM GOD EVEN THY GOD = 174. The self-identification of God to Israel sits at the sealed humming-cap. 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SHOWSTOPPER. God identifies Himself to Israel at the integer of his own chesed-cap. The self-introduction is the chesed-frequency.
Lock (v8): BURNT OFFERINGS = 174. The thing God says he will not reprove Israel for (the burnt offerings) sits at the sealed cap. Burnt offerings, at integer, are at the same place as lovingkindness — God doesn't reject the integer, He rejects the verb (continually before me as habit; v8 ends "to have been continually before me"). The sacrifice integer is correct; the verb-direction (habituation) is wrong.
Lock (v9): NO BULLOCK = 105 = HIS PEOPLE (v4) = SAVIOUR. The refusal of the bullock IS the saviour-integer IS the integer of his people. God refusing the bullock saves the people — same integer, the verb-direction is refuse-to-save. From Psa 73:3: 105 also = ENVIOUS (the verb Asaph repents of). The bullock God refuses is the bullock Asaph envied (Psa 73:3 envying the prosperity of the wicked).
Lock (v10): THOUSAND HILLS = 162 = MOUNT OF GOMER = CHILDREN ARISE UP = INSTRUCTION (v17 self-lock!). The cattle upon a thousand hills sits at the integer of MOUNT OF GOMER (Hosea's redemption-mountain). The same 162 = INSTRUCTION in v17 (which the wicked hate). The thousand hills (God's flock) and the instruction (God's word) are one integer; the wicked who hate the instruction also forget the thousand hills. Note: the cattle of v10 sits on the integer where the wicked's v17 hatred is fired.
Lock (v12): THE WORLD IS MINE = 174 (sealed cap, fifth 174 in the psalm). God's property declaration sits at the lovingkindness cap. Ownership of the world is gematria-identical to lovingkindness. The cosmos-ownership-claim is a chesed-statement, not a hostility-statement. The reason God refuses Israel's bullock is because He owns the herd as mercy, not as creditor.
Lock (v12): IF I WERE HUNGRY = 168 = OUR GOD SHALL COME (v3) = BULLS AND OF GOATS (v13) = SON OF THE BLESSED. Four-way 168 lock spanning three verses + a christological title. The rhetorical question "if I were hungry" sits at the same integer as both (a) the coming-of-God in v3 and (b) the sacrificial-pair in v13. The hypothetical hunger of God is identical at integer to the actual offering of bulls and goats and the Son-of-the-Blessed identity (Mk 14:61 — the high priest's question at Jesus' trial). The verse says: if God were hungry he wouldn't tell you — and the gematria says God's hunger IS the Son of the Blessed (who DID eat with the disciples and DID say take, eat). The hunger-not-told and the body-given-in-bread sit at one integer.
Lock (v13): FLESH OF BULLS = REPROVE THEE = 137 prime. From v8: God said I will not REPROVE thee for thy sacrifices. From v21: God said but I will REPROVE thee. REPROVE THEE = 137 prime = FLESH OF BULLS. The verb God uses to reprove is gematria-identical to the noun he is reproving them about. God's reproof-action and the flesh-of-bulls-object are one sealed integer. (137 also = RISE NOT UP from Psa 140:10 — the fine-structure constant integer, the atomic-binding seal. Reproof binds at the atomic level.)
Lock (v13): BLOOD OF BULLS = 135 = BURNING COALS (Psa 140:10) = ARTAXERXES = TRUMP OF GOD = WALL STREET = DOEG THE EDOMITE = LIFT UP THE HEAD. The blood Psa 50:13 dismisses sits at the trump-of-God / Wall-Street-judgment / burning-coals integer. The blood the priest brings is gematria-identical to the burning coals the slanderer falls into. 135 is the cycle-termination integer. The blood-cycle Israel runs (135) is the same integer as the imprecation Psa 140 prays.
Lock (v13): FLESH = 50 = chapter integer = PAUL = HEROD = REBEKAH = OFFER (v14). The chapter-integer pivot (Section 3) lives here. v13's FLESH is the noun the chapter integer rejects; v14's OFFER is the verb the chapter integer installs.
The two-verse new-covenant ethic:
Lock (v14-A — the chapter-integer substitution): OFFER = 50 = chapter integer = PAUL = FLESH (v13). The verb-noun substitution at the chapter integer (see Section 3). The new ethic verb sits at the same integer as Paul's name. Asaph instructs the saints to OFFER thanksgiving at the same integer the chapter is numbered, the same integer the apostle of the new covenant bears, and the same integer v13's FLESH carries (which is now replaced by the verb). The chapter integer hosts both sides of the substitution.
Lock (v14-B — the central spine): THANKSGIVING = 141 = THE MIGHTY GOD (v1) = OUT OF ZION (v2) = THE WORLD IS MINE (v12). Four-way 141 lock — the THANKSGIVING of v14 is gematria-identical to the opening MIGHTY GOD (v1), the shining-place OUT OF ZION (v2), and the property-claim WORLD IS MINE (v12). Thanksgiving carries the chapter's identity. The Mighty God of v1 is responded to with the Thanksgiving of v14 at the same integer. Identity → response, one number.
Lock (v14-C — the 174 cap): PAY THY VOWS = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SUPPLICATIONS = SEVEN THUNDERS. Sixth appearance of 174 in this psalm (after v3 TEMPESTUOUS, v7 I AM GOD EVEN THY GOD, v8 BURNT OFFERINGS, v12 THE WORLD IS MINE). The verb the saint performs (PAY THY VOWS) sits at the same integer God's identity (v7) and God's tempest (v3) and God's property (v12) sit on. The vow is at the chesed-cap. The lovingkindness, the sealed-thunders integer, IS the integer of the saint's vow-payment.
Lock (v14-D — the Most High): THE MOST HIGH = 132 = MY COVENANT (v16) = FIFTIETH YEAR. The God to whom vows are paid sits at the integer of MY COVENANT (the very covenant the wicked of v16 take in their mouth without ethical right) and the integer of FIFTIETH YEAR (the Jubilee year). The Most High = the Covenant = the Jubilee. Paying vows at v14 is making the Jubilee-payment at the chapter integer 50, denominated in the year of 132.
Lock (v15-A — DAY OF TROUBLE): DAY OF TROUBLE = 144 = OVERTHROW (Psa 140:4, 140:11) = FAR ABOVE RUBIES = OPENED THE HEART. V14 is the New Covenant ethic compressed into one verse. After v9–v13 dismantle the sacrifice economy ("I will take no bullock... will I eat the flesh of bulls?"), v14 installs the replacement: not silence, not nothing — but a different verb. The verb is OFFER (50). The object is THANKSGIVING (141). The destination is THE MOST HIGH (132). The companion-verb is PAY (vows).
