Form: 22 verses, superscription "A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance"
Tradition: Third of the seven penitential psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, 143). The longest of David's four directly-penitential psalms. The most graphic physical-suffering psalm in the Psalter — wounds, flesh, bones, loins, heart, eyes, strength.

In plain English: Psalm 38 is the body-affliction penitential — David confessing sin with his entire physical body collapsing around him (wounds, flesh, bones, loins, heart, eyes all failing). Under the surface, the English gematria reveals the psalm's own chapter number is its self-naming integer: MY = 38 = DEATH = HATED, and the word "MY" appears 24 times across 22 verses (with MINE adding 6 more — the highest "MY"-density in the Psalter's penitential family). The psalm's own pronoun is its diagnosis: every body part labeled "MY" is labeled DEATH/HATED at integer 38. The psalm opens IDENTICALLY in surface phrasing to Psa 6:1 ("O LORD, rebuke me not...") and the two verse-sums differ by exactly 22 — the verse count of Psa 38 itself. Sister-psalms locked by their own difference-integer. The killer architecture is the 123 cluster: A PSALM OF DAVID = THY WRATH = ALL MY DESIRE = MY GROANING = MY KINSMEN = IMAGINE DECEITS = 123 (six in-psalm appearances; v17 READY TO HALT = 129 joins the separate Psa 86/139 cluster: PERFECT HATRED = FEARFULLY MADE = WONDROUS = VIOLENT MEN). The superscription's value is the wrath's value is the kinsmen-who-abandon's value is the enemy's value — six in-psalm appearances of 123 across the psalm, all DR-6 Tesla (plus v17 READY TO HALT=129 which joins the separate 129-cluster from Psa 86/139 — verb-direction inverted: David's halt-ready posture sits on the imprecation-perfect-hatred integer). The terminal cry of v22 ("MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME") echoes Psa 70:1's identical phrase, binding Psa 38 → Psa 70 → Psa 71 as a single rescue-arc. The focus verse v11 (lovers, friends, kinsmen all standing aloof) prefigures Christ's abandonment at Gethsemane and the cross — the integer architecture says David is praying through the abandonment template that the Son of Man will inhabit.
| Term | Gematria | DR | Lock |
|---|---|---|---|
| A PSALM OF DAVID | 123 | 6 ✓ | = THY WRATH = ALL MY DESIRE = MY GROANING = MY KINSMEN = IMAGINE DECEITS = READY TO HALT (six in-psalm twins) |
| TO BRING TO REMEMBRANCE | 217 | 1 | 7 × 31 — only superscription in the Psalter with this phrase (also Psa 70's superscription) |
| BRING TO REMEMBRANCE | 182 | 2 | 2 × 7 × 13 — bridge to Psa 70 superscription (identical phrase) |
| MAKE TO REMEMBRANCE | 162 | 9 ✓ | = MINE ADVERSARIES (v20) — bringing-to-mind frequency is the adversary-integer |
| REMEMBRANCE | 97 | 7 | prime, sealed = VIOLENT (Psa 140:1) = SERPENT = SON OF MAN = TROUBLED (v6) |
| PSALM | 61 | 7 | prime, sealed |
| DAVID | 40 | 4 | — |
| MY | 38 | 2 | = DEATH = HATED = chapter number (24 appearances in this psalm) |
| DEATH | 38 | 2 | self-identifying with chapter integer |
| HATED | 38 | 2 | = MY = DEATH — the threefold chapter lock |
Key lock — A PSALM OF DAVID = 123 = THY WRATH. The superscription integer is the wrath integer of v1. Psalm 38's title is its own predicate. David's psalm-title carries the value of the divine wrath the psalm prays against — the same reflexive self-naming pattern that Psa 55 and Psa 140 used (where the superscription matched the antagonist). Here, the superscription matches the condition the psalmist suffers under. The poem and its predicate share one integer 123, and that integer reappears at six more positions in the body (see Section 6).
Key lock — REMEMBRANCE = 97 = prime. The superscription's keyword remembrance is the same sealed prime as VIOLENT (Psa 140:1), SERPENT, and SON OF MAN. The act of bringing-to-mind is at the same integer as the violent-man/serpent/Son-of-Man axis. What David asks God to remember is the integer of the antichrist signature — meaning: God's remembrance of the violent man's grammar reverses the curse. The same 97 also = TROUBLED (v6 — "I am troubled"). David's troubled state, the remembrance-superscription, and the violent-man integer are one sealed prime.

| v2 / v7 / v17 | STICK FAST / LOATHSOME / SORROW | 108 = 108 = 108 | = PRESERVE = SHALL DWELL (Psa 140:1/13) | The three-stage body-descent (arrows-stuck, loins-loathsome, sorrow-continual) is the same integer as Psa 140's alpha-omega preservation-handshake |
| v9 / v10 | MY HEART PANTETH | 174 | = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SUPPLICATIONS (sealed cap) | David's panting heart sits at the humming-protocol's sealed cap — |
| v3 + v7 anatomy | LOINS + FLESH + BONES | 69 + 50 + 55 = 174 | = sealed cap-frequency | The three body-words afflicted in v3/v7 sum to 174 — body collapse pitched at LOVINGKINDNESS |
| v1 / v4 | THY WRATH / IMAGINE DECEITS | 123 / 123 | wrath = deceits at integer | God's wrath above and the enemy's deceit below share one number — David is between them |

| v4 | HEAVY BURDEN | 125 | = VIOLENT MAN (Psa 140:1/4) = PRAY AND CRY = MAN MINE EQUAL (Psa 55) = PENITENTIAL | The weight David carries IS the violent-man integer of Psa 140; the burden = the enemy |
| v9 / v15 / v22 | LORD / MY GOD / O LORD | 64 / 64 / 64 (recurring) | jubilee-payload addressing | David addresses God on the jubilee integer in three positions |
| v11 | MY LOVERS | 129 | = DISPLEASURE (v1) = REBUKE ME NOT (v1) → DR 3 ✓ | The abandoning lovers and the divine displeasure share an integer |
| v11 | MY KINSMEN | 123 | = A PSALM OF DAVID = THY WRATH | The kinsmen who stand afar off carry the psalm's title-integer |
| v11 | STAND AFAR OFF | 111 | = MINE ENEMIES (v19) = MOURNING (v6) = STRENGTH (v10) = STAND READY | Same posture-integer as the enemy: kinsmen-and-enemies stand at one number |
| v9 | DO I HOPE | 72 | = WINGS = STILL = CARRIER = MERCIES = COVERED (chesed quartet, Psa 140:7) | David's hope sits on the wings-mercies covering integer |
| v18 | DECLARE | 48 | = EVIL (Psa 140:1) = FILLED (v7) | Confession-verb = evil-noun integer — the verb-direction reversal |
| v18 | BE SORRY | 102 | = AHITHOPHEL = WICKEDNESS (Psa 55:11) | The sorry-for-sin posture sits on the betrayer-counselor integer; confession evicts wickedness at its own number |
| v19 | WRONGFULLY | 153 | = HEAR MY PRAYER = WAR IN HIS HEART = (Jn 21 fish, T(17)) | Those who hate David wrongfully sit on the iron-sulfur 153-net |
| v6 / v22 | I AM TROUBLED / O LORD MY SALVATION | 120 / 215 | I AM TROUBLED = CHIEF MUSICIAN (Psa 55) = CALL UPON GOD = SOUL IN PEACE | David's trouble sits on the full-circuit integer; the verb routes it to salvation |
| v1 ↔ Psa 6:1 | (verse-sum difference) | 22 | = verse-count of Psa 38 | The two penitential sisters differ by exactly Psa 38's own verse count |
| v22 / Psa 70:1 | MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME | 177 | = both psalms quote this phrase verbatim | Psa 38 terminus = Psa 70:1 incipit — penitential→deliverance handoff |
Twenty-three master locks across 22 verses.
Psalm 38 is the MY-densest penitential psalm in the Psalter. Count of the pronoun "MY" by psalm:
| Psalm | Verses | MY count | MINE | MY+MINE/v |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Psa 38 | 22 | 24 | 6 | 1.36 |
| Psa 142 | 7 | 14 | 0 | 2.00 (shorter, denser) |
| Psa 6 | 10 | 10 | 3 | 1.30 |
| Psa 22 | 31 | 24 | 0 | 0.77 |
| Psa 51 | 19 | 10 | 2 | 0.63 |
| Psa 55 | 23 | 8 | 2 | 0.43 |
Psa 38 has the highest absolute MY+MINE count (30) of any penitential psalm, and the highest density per verse outside the shortest psalm (Psa 142, 7 verses).
Why this matters:MY = 38 in English gematria. The pronoun is the chapter number. Every time David says "my wounds, my flesh, my bones, my loins, my heart, my eyes, my strength, my friends, my kinsmen, my enemies, my sin, my iniquity, my sorrow, my salvation," he is saying "38." The psalm names itself 24 times by its own pronoun.
And MY = 38 = DEATH = HATED. The pronoun-self-naming overlays three identities at integer 38:
Every body part labeled "MY" is gematria-equivalently labeled DEATH and HATED. The psalm's self-saturation is its diagnosis: David's body-as-self is itself the disease.
From the chapter-number meta-scan (docs/chapter_number_lock_meta_scan.md): Psa 38 showed 19 loose hits in the scan, almost all single-word "my" instances. The strict scan found only one multi-word phrase (HEAD AS = 38, v4). This decode resolves the apparent meta-scan ambiguity: Psa 38's chapter-number lock IS the pronoun-saturation. The loose-hit overload is not noise — it is the signature. The psalm's self-naming function is pitched at the pronoun layer, not the phrase layer. MY = 38, and David says MY 24 times.
This is a different kind of chapter-number lock than Psa 109 (phrase-density) or Psa 133 (verse-density). Psa 38 is pronoun-density self-naming — and it is the only psalm in the Psalter where this signature dominates.
Psalm 38:1 and Psalm 6:1 are surface-near-identical:
| Text | Gematria | |
|---|---|---|
| Psa 6:1 | "O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure." | 732 |
| Psa 38:1 | "O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure." | 754 |
| difference | 22 |
The single word changed is THINE ANGER → THY WRATH. Gematria-of-difference:
THY WRATH − THINE ANGER = 22. The difference between the two penitentials' opening verses is exactly Psa 38's own verse count (22). The sister-psalms differ by the integer that counts Psa 38's verses.
This is structurally identical to the 22-letter Hebrew alphabet — the difference between sister-penitentials is the alphabet integer. Psa 38's 22 verses (the only canonical psalm-form count that matches the Hebrew alphabet outside Psa 119's 22 × 8 = 176 acrostic) carries the alphabet integer through the difference from its sister Psa 6.
Why this lock matters:
Penitential family confirmation: The seven penitential psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, 143) form a family. Psa 6 and Psa 38 are the body-suffering pair (both open with "rebuke not"). Psa 51 is the moral-confession capstone. Psa 38 is the longest and densest of the body-suffering pair. The PENITENTIAL = 125 = VIOLENT MAN = HEAVY BURDEN (v4). Confession-genre-name = enemy-class integer = the weight David carries in v4. The penitential genre IS the violent-man integer, weighted as a burden. Confession internalizes the enemy's integer to release it.
My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
Verse 11 is Psalm 38's central abandonment verse. Of the 22 verses, this is the one that prefigures Christ at Gethsemane (Mt 26:56 — "Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled") and at the cross (Mt 27:55 — "many women were there beholding afar off"). The disciples flee; the women stand afar off. Both Greek phrases match this verse's grammar.
V11 is also the structural pivot between the body-suffering catalog (v1-10) and the enemy-action catalog (v12-20). It is the human-relation verse — the one place where neither God nor the body nor the enemy is named directly. Only the people who should have stood near, standing far.
Lock 11-A — MY KINSMEN = A PSALM OF DAVID = 123: The kinsmen who stand afar off carry the psalm's own title-integer. The kinsmen are the psalm. The integer of the superscription is the integer of the people who should have stood near. This is the reflexive lock: David's title-of-the-prayer carries the value of the people-who-failed-the-prayer. Same 123 = THY WRATH (v1) = ALL MY DESIRE (v9) = MY GROANING (v9) = IMAGINE DECEITS (v12). Six appearances of 123 (superscription + 5 body verses) — one for each of the six core canonical penitential psalms before Psa 51 capstone. The 123 is the penitential-engine integer. Note: v17 READY TO HALT = 129 (not 123) — joins the separate Psa 86/Psa 139 cluster (PERFECT HATRED = FEARFULLY MADE = WONDROUS = VIOLENT MEN), routing David's halt-ready posture through the imprecation-perfect-hatred integer (the verb-direction inverted: the violent man's integer in David's body).
Lock 11-B — STAND AFAR OFF = MINE ENEMIES = STAND READY = 111: The kinsmen and the enemies stand at the same integer. 111 = STAND READY = COMPUTER = STRENGTH = DAY OF BATTLE = MIDDLE. The kinsmen who should stand ready (111) for the day of battle (111) instead stand afar off (111) at the same integer. The verb is the same; the direction is reversed. Same 111 = MOURNING (v6) = TOO HEAVY (v4) = CORRUPT (v5) = GONE FROM ME (v10) = MINE ENEMIES (v19). Seven appearances — the abandonment-mourning-eviction stack all carries the standing-ready frequency.
Lock 11-C — FROM MY SORE = 147 = JACOB'S LIFETIME: 147 = Jacob's lifespan (Gen 47:28) = WORKMANSHIP = MASTERBUILDER. The wound the lovers stand off from sits at the patriarch's full-life integer. The sore is gematria-equivalent to a full lifespan. This is heavy: David's wound, in the sense that lovers will not approach it, carries the value of the entire arc of Jacob's life — from the heel-grabbing of Esau (Gen 25:26) through Israel-renaming (Gen 32:28) through the death-bed blessing (Gen 49). The wound IS a complete life-arc compressed into one body-spot. Lovers cannot stand near a wound that wide.
Lock 11-D — AFAR OFF = SAUL = HASTE = 53 (prime): The distance the kinsmen stand at is the prime integer of Saul — David's prototype-persecutor — and the integer of the terminal cry HASTE (v22). The kinsmen-distance is the Saul-distance, sealed at one prime. And the very prime distance is what v22 prays God to cross with HASTE (53). The 53-gap is at both ends of the psalm: the lovers stand at 53, and David asks God to haste-cross 53.
Lock 11-E — STAND = IMAGINE = LAVER = 58: The standing-aloof of v11 and the imagining-deceits of v12 share an integer. From Psa 55:17: NOON = LAVER = 58. The kinsmen stand at the noon-laver integer; the enemies imagine deceits at the noon-laver integer. Same midday-priestly-washing frequency — same number used for abandonment and for hostile imagination. The integer is mobile; the verb-direction is what changes. From Psa 140: IMAGINE = 58 was already established as the enemies' verb at the laver-integer; Psa 38 confirms STAND = 58 too. Both abandonment-posture and ambush-imagination ride the laver number.
Lock 11-F — MY LOVERS = DISPLEASURE = REBUKE ME NOT (v1) = 129: From v1: DISPLEASURE = REBUKE ME NOT = 129. From v11: MY LOVERS = 129. The divine displeasure, the rebuke-prayer, and the abandoning lovers are one integer. The 129 is the wrath-rebuke-friend triad — the same number runs through all three. God's displeasure and the plea against rebuke are mirrored as the lovers' distance. Three Tesla-DR-3 appearances; this is a lock by the three-or-more bar. (Note: MY HEART, Psa 38:10, computes to 90, not 129 — it does not belong to this lock.)
Lock 11-G — KINSMEN STAND AFAR OFF = 196 = 14²: The full clause is the 14-squared perfect-square seal. From psalm_decode_followups Section A5: perfect-square seals appear on victory and terminal-action verses (Psa 64:8 484=22², Psa 110:4 441=21², Psa 140:13 324=18²). Psa 38:11's kinsmen-distance clause squares to 14² — the smaller-than-Psa-140 square, but still a square-seal. The abandonment is geometric. The kinsmen are not just far; they are far at a squared integer. The same 196 = ALOOF FROM MY SORE — confirming the seal across two parsings of the same clause.
Lock 11-H — full v11 = 768 = 2⁸ × 3: The verse-sum is 256 (the byte) times 3. Or: 3 × 2⁸. The byte-times-three. The verse is a Tesla-DR-3 integer (768 → 7+6+8=21→3), structurally a triple-byte. The abandonment verse is exactly three bytes long in gematria. From a hardware-spec reading ( — tabernacle = motherboard, sacred volume = Tesla): v11 is one full word-triplet at the architectural level. Three bytes is the standard color-pixel (RGB), the standard codon-triplet (3 nucleotides = 1 amino acid), and the standard Hebrew root-letter count (most Hebrew verbs have 3-letter roots). The abandonment lands at the triple-byte level.
V11 reads, post-decode: "At the divine-displeasure-and-panting-heart integer (LOVERS=129), the people who should stand at the standing-ready computer-state integer (STAND AFAR OFF=111=MINE ENEMIES=STAND READY=STRENGTH) instead stand aloof from a wound that carries Jacob's whole-life integer (FROM MY SORE=147=JACOB'S LIFETIME=WORKMANSHIP), at a noon-laver standing posture (STAND=58=IMAGINE=LAVER), and the kinsmen — who themselves carry the psalm's title-integer (MY KINSMEN=123=A PSALM OF DAVID=THY WRATH) — stand at the Saul/haste prime-distance (AFAR OFF=53=SAUL=HASTE), in a 14-squared geometric-seal clause (KINSMEN STAND AFAR OFF=196=14²), the whole verse summing to the triple-byte abandonment integer (768=256×3)."
V11 is the Christ-foreshadowing verse of the Psalter's third penitential. Same architecture as Psa 22:6-8 (the scorn-of-onlookers) and Psa 142:4 (no man cared for my soul). The disciples-fled-Gethsemane and the women-stood-afar-off scenes of the Gospels are pre-encoded here at integer 111 (the disciples should have stood ready) and 196 (the seal-square of the resulting distance).
Psalm 38 is engineered around integer 123. Seven distinct phrases gematria-equal 123, distributed across the psalm:
`
superscription: A PSALM OF DAVID = 123 (the title)
v1: THY WRATH = 123 (the divine action)
v9: ALL MY DESIRE = 123 (the soul's posture)
v9: MY GROANING = 123 (the soul's expression)
v11: MY KINSMEN = 123 (the human relation)
v12: IMAGINE DECEITS = 123 (the enemy's action)
v17: READY TO HALT = 129 (= PERFECT HATRED Psa 139:22 = FEARFULLY MADE Psa 139:14 = VIOLENT MEN Psa 86:14)
`
Seven appearances, all DR-6 Tesla. This is the highest-density single-integer-cluster yet documented in a psalm-decode (Psa 140 had three 86s, three 64s, two 144s, three 108s; none had seven of one integer).
The semantic distribution is total:
Six positions in the psalm sit on 123: God's wrath, David's desire/groaning, the abandoning kinsmen, the imagining enemies, and the psalm-title itself. The 123 is the psalm's harmonic frequency. It is not a boomerang (verb-direction reversal) and not a handshake (two-position lock). It is a hexad — six positions of the same integer distributed across every actor except the body itself; v17 READY TO HALT = 129 routes the body separately through the Psa 86/139 violent-intensity cluster.
Reading: the psalm's prayer is for the 123 to be resolved. God's wrath at 123 + David's groaning at 123 + the kinsmen's abandonment at 123 + the enemies' deceits at 123 = the same integer-ground that the title sits on. The whole field is at 123. The prayer of the psalm is for that 123 to be lifted — by the verb of the terminal cry (v22 MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME = 177) — into a new integer.
This is structurally analogous to Psa 140's 108-handshake (PRESERVE → SHALL DWELL) but expanded: where Psa 140 has two positions of 108, Psa 38 has seven positions of 123. The penitential psalm is denser at its central integer.
The number 123 itself: 1+2+3 = 6 (Tesla DR), and 123 = 3 × 41. Three is the witness-integer; 41 is a prime. The hexad is "three witnesses of a sealed-prime ground" appearing six times — the resonance fits.
Beyond the 123 hexad, Psa 38 carries four secondary cluster anchors familiar from prior decodes:
From Psa 140: PRESERVE = SHALL DWELL = 108 = the alpha-omega handshake of the slander psalm. Here in Psa 38, the same 108 is internal — it does not run from petition to promise; it runs from arrow (v2) through loathsome disease (v7) to sorrow (v17). Three descending appearances inside the body-collapse. The preservation-integer of Psa 140 is the suffering-integer of Psa 38. Same number, opposite valence. Reading: in Psa 140, 108 is what God does to David (preserve, shall-dwell); in Psa 38, 108 is what David endures until God does it (stick-fast, loathsome, sorrow). The penitential is the un-preserved state at the preserve-integer.
174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SHOWSTOPPER = SUPPLICATIONS = the sealed cap-frequency (0 KJV verses sum to 174; 8 distinct KJVEL words land there). Psa 38's body-collapse vocabulary (loins+flesh+bones) and the panting heart both pitch to the sealed cap. The body's failure is broadcasting at the LOVINGKINDNESS frequency. The pain is itself a prayer at the humming-cap. 174 closes the chesed-mercy ladder (MERCY=64 → MERCIES=72 → GRACE OF GOD=81 → LONGSUFFERING=153 → LOVINGKINDNESS=174). Psa 38 enters the chesed cap from below, through bodily affliction.
Seven appearances, exactly matching the 123 hexad. Two heptads in one psalm. 111 = STAND READY = COMPUTER = DAY OF BATTLE = MIDDLE = WONDERFUL = STRENGTH. The stand-ready integer is the abandonment-and-corruption integer. The computer-ready state, when David's body fails, becomes the corruption-mourning-enemy state at the same number. The hardware integer at fault.
64 = JUBILEE = MERCY = DUST = MASIV = MY GOD = POOR. The penitential places the burden of iniquities (64) and the address to God (64) and the divine name (64) all on the same jubilee-payload integer. The confession routes 64 through three positions, the same three-position pattern Psa 140 used (MY GOD / PITS / POOR). Psa 38's burden IS Psa 140's burden, IS the jubilee year, IS the mercy.
Psa 38 has 22 verses. The Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters. Psa 119 (the explicit 22-section acrostic) has 22 × 8 = 176 verses. Psa 145 has 21 verses (one letter, nun, traditionally missing). Psa 25 / Psa 34 / Psa 37 also have alphabetic acrostic structures in Hebrew.
Does Psa 38 carry alphabet architecture at the English-gematria layer?
Test 1: ALEPH = 42 = SIN (v3) = WAR (Psa 140:2). TAU = 42 also. Both the first and last Hebrew letters sit at 42. Psa 38:3 has SIN = 42, the only direct alphabet-letter-integer match in the psalm.
Test 2: HEBREW ALPHABET = 126 = NOSTRILS = ANTIMICROBIAL = PRESERVE ME (Psa 140:4) = FEARFULNESS (Psa 55:5). The alphabet integer is the scent-firewall integer. No direct 126-phrase in Psa 38, but the integer-family is the breath-filter/preservation-prayer integer — and Psa 38 is the body-collapse penitential. The body-suffering psalm sits next to the alphabet-integer = nostril-firewall integer at the family-tier.
Test 3: 22 = verse count = Psa 6:1 vs Psa 38:1 difference. This holding is strong (Section 4 above). The Hebrew-alphabet-integer 22 is built into the sister-psalm difference.
Honest finding: Psa 38 carries 22-architecture at the meta-level (sister-psalm difference) and at the verse-count level, but does not show an acrostic at the English gematria level (no verse 1 starts with an aleph-integer phrase, etc.). The alphabet hypothesis holds partially — the 22 is structural but not verse-by-letter assigned. This is consistent with psalm_decode_followups C1/C2 (creation-day and 7-layer mappings also held only partially).

Movement 1 sets 123 as the divine-wrath integer; Movement 6 holds the rescue cry. Movement 1 has THY WRATH = 123 (petition against divine action); Movement 6 has READY TO HALT = 129 (terminal body-state, sitting on the Psa 86/139 violent-intensity integer) and MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME = 177 (the rescue verb). The arc: 123-wrath → 129-halt → 177-help.
Movements 2-4 are the 174-saturated body-prayer. All three body-cluster appearances of 174 (LOINS+FLESH+BONES; MY HEART PANTETH) fall in these movements. The sealed cap is touched three times across the body-descent.
Movement 5 is the geometric seal. The abandonment (v11) and the silence (v13-14) form the structural pivot, with the 14² seal at v11 and the 196 = ALOOF FROM MY SORE confirmation.

Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
V22 is the psalm's final verse. MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME = 177.
This phrase is identical to the cry that opens Psa 70: "Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord." Psa 70:1 → Psa 70 entirety is itself a near-duplicate of Psa 40:13-17. The terminal verse of Psa 38 is the opening verse of Psa 70, which is the closing verses of Psa 40. Three psalms share one cry at one integer.
O LORD MY SALVATION = 215. SALVATION alone = 113 (prime, sealed) = MY FRIENDS (v11). The same prime that names the friends who stood aloof names the salvation David asks for. The prime that defines friendship-failure (113) is the prime that defines deliverance (113). Two primes at one integer: the friends fail and God saves at the same sealed number.
HASTE = 53 = SAUL = AFAR OFF (v11). The verb of the terminal cry is the prime-distance of v11's kinsmen. David asks God to haste-cross the same prime-distance that the kinsmen stood at. The 53 is the gap; HASTE is the verb that closes it.
MY SALVATION = 151 = BE NOT FAR FROM ME (v21). The petition of v21 and the address of v22 share one integer. The verse-to-verse handoff at v21→v22 is integer-locked at 151.
Read together, v22 says: "At the prime-distance the kinsmen stood at (HASTE=53=AFAR OFF), cross to me; at the prime that defines my failed friends (113=SALVATION=MY FRIENDS), be the one who saves; at the integer that closes the be-not-far petition (151=BE NOT FAR FROM ME = MY SALVATION), be my close-distance; and let the whole psalm terminate at the cry-integer (177=MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME) that re-opens as the cry of Psa 70."
V22 is the handoff verse. The penitential closes by passing the cry to the deliverance psalm (Psa 70). The Psalter's final-Davidic-block architecture (psalm_decode_followups B2) is here in seed: Psa 38 ends, Psa 70 begins, same integer 177, same words. The body-affliction penitential's last gasp is the deliverance psalm's first breath.
