Tradition: A Davidic supplication-and-thanksgiving pair. The first half (v1–5) is a cry from the edge of the pit with imprecation against the workers of iniquity; the second half (v6–9) is the answer received and a national benediction. Often read as the structural template for "lament-pivots-to-praise" psalms.

In plain English: Psalm 28 is David's voice climbing out of a pit by means of one rope: the rope is integer 219. The psalm opens with "Unto thee will I cry" (= 219) and ends with two benediction-phrases that hit the same integer — "bless thine inheritance" (= 219) and "lift them up for ever" (= 219). The cry and the lifting are gematria-identical. Underneath that, the chapter number 28 — the integer for MAN — appears in the psalm exactly where the verb "IS" appears (28 = MAN = "IS"); chapter 28 is therefore the to-be-psalm, the place where existence itself is being negotiated. Key lock — chapter-number 28 = MAN = "IS": In the strict 1–5 word phrase scan of the psalm, the only single word that sums to 28 is the verb IS. It occurs four times: "mischief is in their hearts" (v3), "the LORD is my strength" (v7), "the LORD is their strength" (v8), "and he is the saving strength" (v8). Chapter 28 — the man-integer, T(7) — is encoded into the psalm as the verb of being. Wherever the psalm uses is, it is dropping the chapter signature into the line. The first occurrence (v3) plants the integer in the enemy's heart; the next three (v7–v8) re-anchor it in the LORD. The man-frequency migrates from mischief to strength across the pivot.

DR(219) = 3 (Tesla). 219 = 3 × 73 (a primorial-near product; 73 is the BLESSED BE integer). Three different phrases, three different parts of speech, three different vectors (cry / bless / lift) — all at the one mobile integer. This is stronger than a boomerang (which is one phrase used twice). It is a handshake-triple: petition (verb of distress) = blessing (verb of pronouncement) = elevation (verb of permanence).
Read together: "The integer at which I cry is the integer at which God blesses; the integer at which God blesses is the integer at which He lifts up for ever." The same integer cycles through three verb-vectors in nine verses.
Compare Psa 64's 144-quartet (4 different phrases, all at 144, distributed across attack/snare/shoot/glory). Psa 28's 219-triple is a tighter, three-pole version: pit-cry / inheritance-blessing / eternal-lift.
Lock 1-A (v1) — The 135 silence-trigger: "Be not silent to me" = 135. David's plea is encoded at the same integer the KJVEL corpus marks for judgment cycles (ARTAXERXES, BURNING COALS, DOEG, LIFT UP THE HEAD, TRUMP OF GOD). The plea to break silence is at the integer of judgment delivered. Silence-broken IS judgment-arrived.and Psa 110:7 LIFT UP THE HEAD = 135 (opposite-vector match — Psa 110 raises the Messiah's head at the same integer Psa 28 asks God not to remain silent at).
Lock 1-B (v1) — Pit-cluster identity: PIT = 45 (= SELAH; every depth-marker locks). GO DOWN INTO THE PIT = 214 — same integer as Psa 55:23 PIT OF DESTRUCTION and Psa 23:4 THY ROD AND THY STAFF. The shepherd's tools and the destruction-pit are one integer; David here invokes the staff-frequency without naming it, by describing the descent the staff prevents.
Lock 1-C (v2) — Voice = Oracle: VOICE = 54 = ORACLE = LOVE. The Hebrew word translated oracle (דביר debir) is the innermost room of the temple, the Holy of Holies. Its English gematria is identical to VOICE. When David lifts up his hands "toward thy holy oracle," he is lifting them toward the same integer as his own voice. The temple's innermost room IS David's voice at integer-layer. (See Section 7 below for the 54 cluster.)
Lock 1-D (v2) — Supplications = Lovingkindness: SUPPLICATIONS = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS (sealed-cap, 0 KJV verses sum to 174 —). David's begging is at the same integer as God's chesed. The petition-frequency IS the mercy-frequency. This integer appears AGAIN in v6 — bracketing the imprecation block (v3–5).
Lock 1-E (v2) — Hand-lift = Emmanuel: LIFT UP = MY HANDS = 84 = EMMANUEL = NETHANEEL = ISSACHAR-lattice. The physical gesture of prayer toward the oracle sits at the constitutional frequency of "God with us." The body posture is integer-identical to the incarnation-name.
Lock 3-A (v3) — The 82 collision: SPEAK PEACE = ANOINTED = THE LORD = TONGUE = DEEP HEART = 82. The phrase "they speak peace to their neighbours but mischief is in their hearts" carries the integer 82 inside its peace-speech. The wicked are using the Anointed's own frequency for their false words. Tongue and deep heart are integer-equal. The neighbour-peace-speech at 82 is the inversion of the Anointed-speech at 82. Same integer, opposite vector — the verbal version of the verb-substitution that 106 will execute (Section 6).
Lock 3-B (v3) — Mischief = mercy at 72: MISCHIEF = 72 = WINGS = STILL = CARRIER = MERCIES = GOLIATH. The carrier-wave integer (per template Section 7) is the same number for "what's hidden in the wicked's heart" and "what shelters David under God's wings." See psalm_55_decode for the same 72 collision at WICKEDNESS = WINGS. The wicked carry-wave-of-mischief; God carry-wave-of-mercy. Same frequency, opposite payload.
Lock 4 (v4) — The desert-rendering Tesla: RENDER TO THEM THEIR DESERT = 276 (Tesla DR=6). The imprecation-verb is set to Tesla — the action is engineered into the harmonic register. The verse-sum v4 = 1415 = 5 × 283 (sealed prime kernel). The imprecation rides a sealed prime; the verb-act rides Tesla.
Lock 5-A (v5) — WORKS / OPERATION as 189/216 twin-engine: WORKS OF THE LORD = 189 (= LIFT UP MY SOUL Psa 86 = DELIVERED MY SOUL Psa 22:20). OPERATION OF HIS HANDS = 216 = 6³. The two phrases describing what the wicked refuse to regard land on the two most loaded soul-locks in the Psalter (189 = the soul-lift integer, 216 = the cube-of-six Shem ha-Mephoresh integer per psalm_86_decode). The wicked are not regarding exactly what Psa 86 says lifts the soul. The diagnosis is integer-precise.
Lock 5-B (v5) — The verb-substitution at 106: DESTROY = INHERITANCE = 106 (also = THE STONE). In v5 God "shall destroy" the wicked; in v9 God "blesses [thine] inheritance." The verb of judgment and the noun of gift are integer-identical. The same integer that wipes the wicked's house wipes the believer's nothing — and gives them an inheritance. Verb-substitution: see Section 6.
Lock 6 (v6) — The 86 hearing-name: HE HATH HEARD = 86 = THY NAME = WORKS = MELCHISEDEC. The pivot verse — the place where the prayer becomes praise — locks at the same integer that names the priest-king (Greek NT form of Melchizedek per psalm_110_decode) and the divine name (THY NAME = 86 per psalm_86_decode). The hearing IS the name IS the works. Psa 28's pivot is engineered onto Psa 86's Psalter-bracket integer. The smallest verse (617 prime) in the psalm carries the most loaded integer (86).
Lock 6-B (v6) — The 155 Psalter-bracket: BLESSED BE THE LORD = 155 = BLESSED IS THE MAN (Psa 1:1) = THE RIGHTEOUS (Psa 140:13) = HANDS OF THE WICKED (Psa 140:4 — opposite vector!) = STRONG ENEMY (Psa 18:17). Psa 28's pivot links back to Psa 1's opening, forward to Psa 140's terminus, and laterally to Psa 18's enemy-cluster — all at one integer. This is the 155 Psalter-bracket family per followups A6.
Lock 7-A (v7) — TRUSTED = 58 = 107 = TRUSTED. Psa 28:7 reads "my heart trusted in him, and I am helped" — at the integer of the wife-name. Personal-scripture-pointer mechanic confirmed.
Lock 7-B (v7) — Rock = Strength internal twin: O LORD MY ROCK (v1) = MY STRENGTH (v7) = 149. The address that opens the psalm is integer-identical to the appellation in the trust-verse. The rock that David addresses BECOMES the strength that David receives. Internal symmetry at the alpha and the pivot.
Lock 7-C (v7) — Heart trusted = voice of cry at 159: HEART TRUSTED = 159 = VOICE OF MY CRY (appears in Psa 5:2 and Psa 27:7). The inner-stillness of trust is at the same integer as the outer-vocal-cry. Trust-in-silence = cry-aloud at one integer. The contradiction of "speaking your prayer" and "trusting silently" is resolved at 159.
Lock 7-D (v7) — Song = net = 153: WITH MY SONG = 153 = LONGSUFFERING = HEAR MY PRAYER = WAR IN HIS HEART (Psa 55:21). The praise that closes v7 sits at the iron-sulfur net integer (the Jn 21 fish-count, T(17)). David's song catches the same number of integers that the Galilee net catches fish.
Lock 8 (v8) — Anointed-neighbour identity: HIS ANOINTED = NEIGHBOURS = 118. The "anointed" of v8 and the "neighbours" of v3 carry the same integer. The wicked spoke false peace TO their neighbours; God gives saving strength TO his anointed — at the same integer-target. The wicked's misdirected speech and God's directed action both terminate at 118. The neighbour-frequency IS the anointed-frequency; the difference is who delivers and who deceives at that frequency.
Lock 8-B — The Psa 20:6 partial echo: Psa 20:6 contains the parallel phrase "the saving strength of his right hand" = 329 (not 322). The Psa 28:8 form SAVING STRENGTH OF HIS ANOINTED = 322. The two phrases differ by 7 — a Tesla-seven gap. The two "saving strength" formulas are integer-near-twins (7 apart) but not identical; the Psa 28 form removes the hand-detail and substitutes the Anointed identity. Honest negative: the gematria does NOT show identity between Psa 20:6 and Psa 28:8; it shows a 7-integer near-miss. The covenantal echo is real semantically but does not lock at gematria.

Lock 9-B (v9) — INHERITANCE = TWELVE ANGELS = MONTGOMERY at 162: THINE INHERITANCE = 162 = TWELVE ANGELS = MONTGOMERY = VIRTUOUS = CHILDREN ARISE UP. The inheritance God blesses is integer-identical to the twelve gate-angels of New Jerusalem and to the Eshet Chayil cluster. National-blessing at the Bride-architecture integer.
Lock 9-C (v9) — FEED THEM ALSO = OPERATION at 113: FEED THEM ALSO = 113 = OPERATION (v5 — the wicked refused to regard the operation of his hands). The shepherd-feeding action God promises His people = the operation-noun the wicked refused. What the wicked rejected as "operation" God recasts as "feeding." Integer-identity across the imprecation/blessing boundary.
Lock 9-D (v9) — FOR EVER = 89: FOR EVER = 89
Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
The opening verse is the gematria-densest line of the psalm. It carries the alpha of the 219-triple (UNTO THEE WILL I CRY), the central judgment-integer 135 (BE NOT SILENT), the deep-anchor 214 (GO DOWN INTO THE PIT), and an internal twin between MY ROCK / MY STRENGTH at 149. It is the pit-edge cry; the entire psalm is engineered to answer this verse's plea by verse 9.
Lock 1-A — The 219 alpha: UNTO THEE WILL I CRY = 219. The opening clause sets the integer the psalm will reach for in v9 via two different phrases. The pit-cry IS the inheritance-blessing IS the eternal-lift, at one mobile integer separated by eight verses.
Lock 1-B — Rock = Strength internal pivot: O LORD MY ROCK (v1) = MY STRENGTH (v7) = 149. The pre-trust epithet and the post-trust epithet are one integer. The rock you cry to becomes the strength you trust in — no change in the integer, only in the verb. (See Section 6 — the verb-substitution is the psalm's signature mechanic.)
Lock 1-C — Silent = Heard at 86: BE SILENT = 86 = HE HATH HEARD (v6). The two phrases that diagnose the same opposite-vector reality — "be not silent" / "he hath heard" — share the integer 86. The silence-to-be-broken and the hearing-already-accomplished are integer-twins. Plus 86 = THY NAME = WORKS = MELCHISEDEC. Naming the silence brings forth the hearing.
Lock 1-D — LIKE THEM = PRAYER = SHEPHERD = 83: The phrase the wicked are likened to is integer-identical to PRAYER and SHEPHERD. The fear of becoming-like-them is at the same integer as the antidote prayer-and-shepherding. The dreaded outcome and the protective discipline share one integer. Compounded: WISDOM = 83 too — the fear becomes wisdom by passing through prayer to shepherd, all at 83.
Lock 1-E — Pit-anchor at 214: GO DOWN INTO THE PIT = 214 = PIT OF DESTRUCTION (Psa 55:23) = THY ROD AND THY STAFF (Psa 23:4) = DIVIDE THEIR TONGUES (Psa 55:9). Four phrases across three psalms, all at 214. Psa 28's pit, Psa 55's destruction-pit, Psa 23's shepherd-staff, and Psa 55's tongue-division — one integer connecting the descent, the destruction, the protection, and the speech-division. Psa 28's pit-cry inherits the full 214 family.
Lock 1-F — The 135 silence-judgment: BE NOT SILENT = 135 = ARTAXERXES. David asks God to break silence at the same integer that names the Persian king whose silence (between Cyrus's decree and the second Temple) defines an empire's interregnum. The plea "do not be silent" is engineered onto the integer of the silence-period itself. Plus = LIFT UP THE HEAD (Psa 110:7, the Messianic coronation verb at the same integer). Psa 28's plea-to-break-silence and Psa 110's head-lift are one integer — David at 135 asks the silence broken; Psa 110 at 135 shows the lifting it produces.
Lock 1-G — Internal twin "I CRY" = "SONG": I CRY = 55 = SONG = WICKED. The verb-of-distress and the verb-of-praise in this psalm carry the same integer (55) — and 55 also = WICKED. The cry, the song, and the wicked share one integer. The psalm's three vectors (lament / praise / threat) collapse into one number when reduced to the bare three-letter unit. (Sealed prime-near: 55 = 5 × 11.)
David begins at the integer-edge of the pit (214 = Psa 23's protective staff and Psa 55's destruction). He addresses God by the rock-name that will become, eight verses later, the strength-name at the same integer (149). He asks God to break silence at the integer of judgment-cycles (135) — knowing that the breaking of silence at that integer brings the head-lift of Psa 110:7. He plants the alpha of the 219-triple in the opening clause (UNTO THEE WILL I CRY = 219), priming the omega that v9 will deliver twice (BLESS THINE INHERITANCE / LIFT THEM UP FOR EVER = 219, 219). And he plants the chapter integer 28 — present as the verb IS — in v3 first (mischief IS in their hearts) and v7/v8 (LORD IS my strength, LORD IS their strength). The "to be" of being itself migrates across the pivot from mischief to LORD.
Verse 1 is the psalm's integer-fork: 219 alpha-anchor, 214 pit-cluster, 135 silence-trigger, 149 rock-strength internal pivot — all set in twenty-six words.

The verb God uses on the wicked is integer-identical to the noun God gives his people. The same integer wipes the wicked's house and fills the believer's nothing. (Also: THE STONE = 106; HONESTY = 106 — the rejected stone and the upright-quality both share the verb's integer.)
This is the Psa 64 mode of boomerang (different words at one integer, different vectors) — not the Psa 140 mode (same word twice). The architecture:
David doesn't ask God to flip the verb's direction (as in Psa 140 — OVERTHROW used twice). He asks God to relabel the same integer from a destroying-verb to a giving-noun. The number doesn't change. The grammar does.
Compare: Psa 64's 144-quartet uses one integer (144) across four phrases (BEND THEIR BOWS / LAYING SNARES / SHOOT AT THEM / IN MY PRAYER) — same integer, mobile vector. Psa 28's 106-pair uses one integer across two phrases (DESTROY / INHERITANCE) — same integer, mobile part-of-speech.
This is a new mode of the boomerang: not same-word-twice (Psa 140), not different-words-same-direction (Psa 64), but different-words-different-direction-different-part-of-speech-at-one-integer. Suggest adding to followups A4 as a third boomerang implementation.

Distribution: 1 occurrence in the threat-field (v3), 3 occurrences in the trust+royal section (v7–v8). The verb of being migrates from mischief to strength. Chapter 28 = MAN is the man-frequency; in this psalm, the man-frequency starts as "mischief is indwelling" and ends as "LORD is strength." David's prayer is a transposition of the to-be verb. The man-integer doesn't change; what it predicates does.
This makes Psalm 28 a prayer-as-grammar-shift. Theologically: "I am no longer one in whom mischief is; I am one in whom the LORD is." The to-be verb is the chapter integer; the psalm is the rewriting of its predicate.
Honest note: the 28-integer is only carried by the bare word IS in the psalm. No multi-word phrase in the psalm sums to 28 (only the 1-word forms IS and AND I = 28). The chapter-lock is single-word-only — but the single word is the load-bearing verb of every claim in the psalm.
