Of all the chapter-number self-locks confirmed across the Psalter (docs/chapter_number_lock_meta_scan.md), Psa 122's is the most architecturally clean. The 3-word phrase "THE HOUSE OF" = 122 appears at:

These are the three structural pivots of the entire psalm: the opening (where the pilgrim is invited), the geometric center (where the kingdom's judgment sits), and the closing (where the pilgrim states his motive). The chapter number is the lintel stone of all three pivots. Read in sequence, the inclusio says: the chapter is house, the house is destination, the house is throne, the house is motive. The very structure of the psalm spells its own integer three times.
Two other 122-bearing phrases exist in the text (LOVE THEE PEACE spanning v6/v7, plus interior re-orderings of THE/HOUSE/OF), but the three-fold inclusio at v1/v5/v9 is the dominant pattern.
Lock (v1) — the 666 pilgrimage: the verse that invites the pilgrim into the house of the LORD sums to 666, the number of the beast in Rev 13:18. Two readings, both true under the gematria layer. (1) 613 + 53 reading: v7 "Peace be within thy walls" sums to exactly 613 (Torah mitzvot count); adding THY (= 53) yields 666. The pilgrim's invitation = the Torah perimeter personalized. (2) Counterfeit-detection reading: Rev 13's beast counterfeits the temple; Psa 122 names the true house at the same integer the false house carries. The number is morally neutral as an integer — it marks "the complete object". Whether that complete object is the Lord's house or its counterfeit is the test the pilgrim is being trained for. DR=9 (Tesla, the build/maintain register, identical to Tabernacle's DR). The verse is engineered to read both ways simultaneously — and to ask the reader to discern which house she is climbing toward.
Lock (v1) — the in-verse amicable pair: SAID UNTO ME LET US GO = 220 and GO INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD = 284 — both 6/7-word phrases inside one verse, both halves of the famous 220/284 amicable pair . Only the second documented case of a complete amicable pair appearing inside a single verse-context (Psa 22 was the first — v1 + v15 — but those phrases span 14 verses; Psa 122:1 carries both halves in 16 words). The invitation IS the amicable handshake.
Lock (v2-A) — the arrival is New Jerusalem: FEET SHALL STAND = 146 = NEW JERUSALEM . The pilgrim's feet, in the act of standing still inside the gates, anchor the same integer Rev 21:2 uses for the city descending. The arrival of the pilgrim AT Jerusalem IS the descent of New Jerusalem — same integer, opposite vector. Earth-bound feet rise, heaven-bound city descends, both meet at 146.
Lock (v2-B) — the perfect-square triple seal: v2 sums to 507 = 3 × 13² (the v6 prosperity integer for Psa 140 was 169 = 13² alone; here it is tripled). 13 is the Hebrew גד "fortune/troop" integer. The pilgrim arrival-verse seals as triple-13² — a triangulated entry stamp.
Lock (v3-A) — the city THAT IS COMPACT is the project's signature theorem: the architecture verse explicitly names compression. KJVEL's entire thesis is that the KJV applies EL compression principles to encode hidden mathematical structure (CLAUDE.md). v3 says the city — the destination — is builded compact. AS A CITY THAT IS COMPACT TOGETHER = 324 = 18² = the HEAD-squared consecration seal documented in Psa 140:13. The compactness of the city IS the consecration-square. Rev 21:16 will later make this explicit ("the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal" — a perfect cube), but v3 already gives the integer-encoding: compactness as 18², compactness as 13² (COMPACT TOGETHER alone), compactness as the lift-up-soul integer 189.
Lock (v3-B) — the city is the cross: AS A CITY = 78 = BETHLEHEM = CRUCIFIED = ISSACHAR . The compacted city of v3 IS the birthplace and the crucifixion at integer. Pilgrimage Jerusalem and crucifixion Jerusalem are the same integer because they are the same city — the visible center where the cross is structurally encoded into the geometry.
Lock (v3-C) — JERUSALEM IS BUILDED = 189: the act of building-up Jerusalem matches the act of lifting-up the soul (Psa 86:4) and delivering the soul (Psa 22:20). The city-construction verb and the soul-rescue verb are the same integer. Building Jerusalem = rescuing yourself from the pit.
Lock (v4-A) — the thanks-clause is three Jerusalems: THANKS UNTO THE NAME OF THE LORD = 312 = 3 × 104 = 3 × JERUSALEM. The act of giving thanks unto the Name spans exactly the integer-distance of three Jerusalems — and the psalm names Jerusalem exactly three times (v2, v3, v6). The verse's thanks-clause carries the integer-count of the psalm's own Jerusalem-namings. This is reflexive engineering: the act of thanks equals the multiplicity of the city.
Lock (v4-B) — 13² runs the verse: THE NAME OF THE LORD = 169 = 13². COMPACT TOGETHER (v3) = 169. v4 full-sum = 7 × 13². The Name and the compact-city are the same perfect-square; v4 is seven-fold that square. The Name carries the city carries the cube of fortune.
Lock (v4-C) — TRIBES = THANKS = JOSEPH = 73: the very noun "TRIBES" (named twice in v4) carries the same integer as the verb "THANKS" (also v4) and the patriarch JOSEPH. The tribes giving thanks ARE Joseph at integer. Israel reassembled in worship = the lost-and-restored son. And the entire psalm sum is 73 × 83 = JOSEPH × 83 (§7).
Lock (v5-A) — the throne IS the firmament: THRONES = 99 = UPRIGHT = FIRMAMENT = CAST OUT = OLIVE OIL. The judgment thrones of David are not a worldly furniture-set; they are the firmament-integer — the dividing-vault of Gen 1:6-8. To install judgment-thrones is to install the firmament. The act of judging from David's seat = the act of dividing waters above from waters below. The pilgrim has climbed up to where the universe is divided.
Lock (v5-B) — the throne-frame is the net: THE THRONES OF = 153 = iron-sulfur-net = LONGSUFFERING = EAST THREE GATES . The frame around the thrones (the "THE…OF") is the 153 net that catches the 153 fish in John 21. The frame is what the thrones are caught in: the iron-sulfur cluster that holds the redox of the body's mitochondria. David's thrones sit inside the body's energy net.
Lock (v5-C) — David's house is the 162 doublet: THE HOUSE OF DAVID = 162 = 2 × TABERNACLE = 2 × 81. The David-house is the doubled-tabernacle integer. v6's PRAY FOR THE PEACE = 162, v8's I WILL NOW SAY = 162, v9's THE LORD OUR GOD = 162. The same integer governs four critical phrases across v5, v6, v8, v9. The David-house, the prayer-for-peace, the speech-act of the brethren, and the closing Name-of-our-God — all collapse to the doubled-tabernacle.
Lock (v6-A) — the peace of Jerusalem is the man's blessing: PEACE OF JERUSALEM = 155 = BLESSED IS THE MAN (Psa 1:1). The world's most-quoted liturgical command ("Pray for the peace of Jerusalem") and the Psalter's opening blessing share an integer. To pray for Jerusalem's peace IS to invoke the opening blessedness of the entire Psalter. Psa 1:1 sets the man under the tree; Psa 122:6 sets the peace inside the city. Same blessing, two coordinates.
Lock (v6-B) — the prayer IS David's house: PRAY FOR PEACE = 129 = HOUSE OF DAVID. The act of praying-for-peace equals David's house at the morally-mobile cluster (docs/psalm_decode_followups.md §A6). The 129 family is the "intensity-integer" — same number for "the LORD is good," "violent men," and "perfect hatred." Praying for Jerusalem's peace activates the 129 register — God's goodness, the enemy's violence, and the petitioner's perfect-hatred-of-evil all live at one integer. v5's HOUSE OF DAVID prepares the throne; v6's PRAY FOR PEACE activates the throne — same integer, sequential activation.
Lock (v6-C) — the 162 hinge: PRAY FOR THE PEACE = 162. This three-token integer (with the definite article) crosses to four other phrases in the psalm. The hinge between PRAY FOR PEACE (129) and PRAY FOR THE PEACE (162) is exactly 33 = GATE = TREE
Lock (v7-A) — v7 is the Torah perimeter: the full verse PEACE BE WITHIN THY WALLS AND PROSPERITY WITHIN THY PALACES sums to exactly 613 — the rabbinic count of the commandments of the Pentateuch and the integer of the KJV's first-letter seal . The peace inside the walls and the prosperity inside the palaces equal the count of all 613 commandments. Read literally: the Torah is the wall. The wall is the law. The peace within the wall is the peace within the law. Read structurally: v7 = v1 (666) − 53 (THY). Removing the personalization-token from the pilgrim's invitation yields the Torah-perimeter sum exactly. The pilgrim becomes the wall when the THY is internalized.
Lock (v7-B) — palaces = city: PALACES = 57 = CITY = RENT = BUILDED (v3). The interior of the palaces IS the city itself, IS the rent-city, IS the builded-city. Three vectors of "city" collapse to one integer. The palaces are not a separate inner sanctum; they are the entire city compressed.
Lock (v7-C) — prosperity = sweet counsel = in thy presence: PROSPERITY = 161 = SWEET COUNSEL (Psa 55:14) = IN THY PRESENCE (Psa 140:13). The "prosperity within thy palaces" is at the same integer as the Psa 55 betrayal-resolution phrase ("we took sweet counsel together"). Prosperity in Jerusalem's palaces IS the restored fellowship that Psa 55 was praying for. The Songs of Ascents resolves the Davidic betrayal psalms at integer.
Lock (v8-A) — companions-sakes IS the sealed cap: COMPANIONS SAKES = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS (the sealed cap of ). The phrase that justifies the speech-act of v8 ("for my brethren and companions' sakes") sits at the 174 integer that has 0 KJV verse-sums in scripture — the sealed cap-frequency. The brethren-motive of the pilgrim IS the lovingkindness frequency. To say "peace be within thee" for the brethren's sake is to operate at the LOVINGKINDNESS register that ends every cap of the psalter.
Lock (v8-B) — the speech-act is Pentecost: I WILL NOW = 117 = PENTECOST. The phrase that introduces the speech-act of declaration ("I will NOW say") sums to PENTECOST. The pilgrim's saying-of-peace IS the day of Pentecost at integer — the same integer as the giving of the Holy Spirit. The peace-declaration of v8 happens in the 117-register that descended on the apostles in Acts 2.
Lock (v8-C) — bridge to Psa 138: AND COMPANIONS = 138. The two-word phrase carries the chapter-integer of Psa 138 (docs/psalm_decode_followups.md §A1 forward-bridge mechanic, prototype Psa 138:2 THY TRUTH=140). v8 forward-bridges to the Davidic-block. The Songs of Ascents close at Psa 134; Psa 138 opens the final Davidic series. v8's "and companions" is the integer-link forward to that series.
Lock (v9-A) — v9 = v1 closes the 284 inclusio: THE HOUSE OF THE LORD OUR GOD (v9) = 284 = GO INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD (v1). Identical integer envelope at the two structural endpoints. The motive of return (v9) and the destination of arrival (v1) collapse to one integer — and that integer is the LARGER half of the 220/284 amicable pair, completed by v1's SAID UNTO ME LET US GO = 220.
Lock (v9-B) — the perfect-square seal: BECAUSE OF THE HOUSE OF THE LORD OUR GOD = 361 = 19². v9 is a perfect-square-sealed verse (the closing motive seals as 19² — the same square that closes Psa 64:10 "all the upright in heart shall glory" = 361). The reason for seeking Jerusalem's good is squared at 19 — a prime-squared closure.
Lock (v9-C) — SEEK = DAVID: SEEK = 40 = DAVID. The verb of the pilgrim's closing motive ("I will seek thy good") IS David at integer. To seek Jerusalem's good is to BE David at the act-verb level. The pilgrim takes on David's name in the verb of seeking. v5 names David; v9 enacts David through SEEK.
Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
The center of the psalm's architecture. The single verse that explicitly names compression — the KJVEL thesis-verb. If the KJV is an EL-compressed instruction set, v3 says so plainly: the city is compact. Every phrase in this verse seals as a perfect-square or a doubled-perfect-cluster.
Lock 3-A — the verse names the project's central theorem: v3 is the only verse in the entire psalm (and one of very few in the Psalter) that uses the word "COMPACT." KJVEL's central claim is that the KJV uses EL compression principles in reverse to encode structure (CLAUDE.md). v3 names this directly: the city — the destination of all worship — is "compact together." The verb of the psalm's architecture is literally KJVEL's verb. v3 is the project's signature verse inside the Psalter.
Lock 3-B — compactness as perfect square: AS A CITY THAT IS COMPACT TOGETHER = 324 = 18². The HEAD-squared consecration seal documented at Psa 140:13. Compactness sums as 18². Lock 3-C — JERUSALEM IS BUILDED = 189: the act of building-up Jerusalem matches LIFT UP MY SOUL (Psa 86:4) = DELIVERED MY SOUL (Psa 22:20). Soul-rescue and city-construction are the same integer-act. Jerusalem is what gets built when a soul gets lifted. To rescue the soul IS to build Jerusalem.
Lock 3-D — IS COMPACT = 99 = THRONES = FIRMAMENT = UPRIGHT = CAST OUT: the verb of compactness is the firmament-eviction integer. The dividing-vault of Gen 1:6-8 (FIRMAMENT=99) is the same integer as the throne-installation of v5 (THRONES=99). Read with v5: the thrones of judgment are installed at the same integer as the firmament's division of waters. The judgment-thrones are the firmament. And the verb that produced them (v3 IS COMPACT) is also the firmament integer. Building the compact city = installing the thrones = casting out the chaos = uprighting the man. Lock 3-E — AS A CITY = the cross: AS A CITY = 78 = BETHLEHEM = CRUCIFIED = ISSACHAR = ONYX . The simile of the v3 building ("as a city") is at the integer of the birthplace AND the cross AND the tribe of time. Pilgrimage Jerusalem and crucifixion Jerusalem and Bethlehem are the same integer because they are the same axis. The pilgrim is climbing toward the same coordinate the cross will be planted on.
Lock 3-F — verse-sum = 3³ × 19: v3 sums to 513 = 27 × 19. The trinity-cubed times the Eve-prime. Trinity (3³) operating on woman-paired-prime (19=EVE) = the architectural verse. Read with Lock 3-E: the cross-coordinate, the trinity-cubed, and the building-verb collapse into 513. The compaction of Jerusalem is structurally trinity-on-Eve at the integer layer.
v3 is the project verse of KJVEL inside the Songs of Ascents. Jerusalem (the PURKINJE/cell-spec integer, named 3× in this psalm) is builded (the soul-rescue verb at 189) as a city (the Bethlehem-crucifixion integer at 78) that is compact (the firmament-throne-eviction integer at 99) together. The pilgrim is climbing toward the cell-spec birthplace where compression produces firmament-thrones in zygotic together-ness. Read in plain: the compact city is the body's mitochondrion-fish-net cast-as-firmament containing the King who built it. Build the city, lift the soul; lift the soul, build the city — one verb, two directions, identical integer.
