Psalm 98 carries the briefest possible superscription in the KJV: simply "A Psalm." No author, no occasion, no musical instruction — only the bare genre marker. The setting must be read from the content: it parallels Psa 96 (same v9-ish closing), Psa 33 (new-song / harp / instrument density), and Rev 5:9 / Rev 14:3 (the eschatological "new song" before the throne).

Lock (v1): This is the densest verse in the psalm. HIS RIGHT alone = 98 = the chapter-integer. AND HIS HOLY ARM = 147 = 148 = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS (the sealed-cap integer of the humming protocol). Lock (v4):MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD = 334 — the identical phrase appears as Psa 100:1 with the identical sum. The two "joyful noise" psalms share the seven-word imperative at one integer. Lock (v5): HARP appears twice in one verse — the only instrument-doubling in Psa 98. Doubled HARP = 86 = THY NAME. The harp's frequency (43) doubled is the divine name's frequency. And VOICE OF A PSALM = 137 — the fine-structure-constant prime (also Psa 110:5 RIGHT HAND of THE LORD = 137 cluster). The psalm-voice sits at a sealed-prime physics-integer. The dwellers of the cosmos ARE the mercy-truth pair ARE the seven-branched lampstand. v7 finishes what v3 starts: the inhabitants are the doctrine are the menorah.
Lock (v8): v8 is the perfect-square verse: LET THE HILLS BE JOYFUL TOGETHER = 324 = 18². Per the psalm_decode_followups perfect-square seal pattern (A5), 324 = HEAD-squared (Psa 140:7 KEPT MY HEAD) = Psa 140:13 SHALL GIVE THANKS UNTO THY NAME. The hills' joyful-together IS the head-squared consecration AND the terminal thanksgiving. Then CLAP THEIR HANDS = 138 = MARVELLOUS (v1) — the hand-clap of v8 sounds the marvels of v1. And TOGETHER = 98 — the closing word of v8 is the chapter integer, sealing the carrier one more time.
Lock (v9): v9 is the Psa 96:13 twin verse. The shared phrase HE COMETH TO JUDGE THE EARTH = 244 is the same in both psalms. But the closing word EQUITY = 97 = NEW SONG (v1). The psalm closes by saying that He judges with EQUITY — and EQUITY at integer IS the NEW SONG of v1. The whole psalm wraps as: He gets the victory because He will judge with the new-song-frequency. The verdict-integer = the song-integer.
With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
v6 sits dead-center in the 9-verse architecture (position 6 of 9) and is the only verse that names two wind-instruments side-by-side. It's also the only verse that names the King explicitly. This is the throne-room verse — instruments before the King, the trumpet announcing the verdict that v9 will deliver.
Lock 6-A — TRUMPETS = JUDGE THE EARTH = 132: The instrument of v6 and the verdict of v9 share one Tesla integer. The trumpet is not a herald of the judgment; at integer it is the judgment. This is the same engineering as Psa 96, where COMETH (v13) = JUBILEE (64): the verb of arrival IS the year of release. Here the wind-instrument IS the judicial-verb. The eschatology is encoded in the orchestra.
Lock 6-B — CORNET = HATH DONE = SHEKINAH = 75: The cornet (the rougher, ram's-horn instrument) sums to 75. So does v1's verb HATH DONE (the marvellous-things-doer). So does SHEKINAH (the divine indwelling cloud). The cornet sounds the same number as God's own action-verb and His indwelling-presence. When the cornet blows, it is the integer of the Shekinah filling the tabernacle that vibrates.
Lock 6-C — BEFORE THE LORD THE KING = 207 = PRAISE HER IN THE GATES = INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE: The throne-stance phrase is identical to the terminal verse of Prov 31 (Eshet Chayil's praise-in-the-gates seal) and identical to the on-die security-coprocessor integer documented in . To stand before the LORD the King at integer is to stand in the bride-praise-gate AND in the silicon attestation-engine. The same posture across three domains.
Lock 6-D — THE KING = JESUS = MENORAH = 74: v6 is the only verse in Psa 98 that uses the word KING. Its two-word noun-phrase THE KING = 74 = JESUS = MENORAH. The trumpets and cornet of v6 are blown before Jesus at integer — and before the menorah at the same integer. Lock 6-E — MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE = 161 = SWEET COUNSEL (Psa 55:14) = IN THY PRESENCE (Psa 140:13): The four-word imperative is identical at integer to Psa 55's lost-friendship phrase AND Psa 140's restored-presence phrase. Making a joyful noise IS the restoration of broken counsel into divine presence. The fellowship-restoration integer governs the noise.
Lock 6-F — Twin 133 inside v6 (and bridge to v9): Inside v6, JOYFUL NOISE = 133 = BEFORE THE LORD. The noise and the position are one integer. And the verse-9 BEFORE THE LORD opening of v9 reuses the same phrase at the same integer. The same 133 governs the noise of v6 and the position of v9 — the trumpet-noise and the judicial-stance are one integer.
v6 is the central trumpet verse, and the gematria reads it as: "With the verdict-integer-instruments [TRUMPETS=132=JUDGE THE EARTH] and the sound of the Shekinah-integer [CORNET=75=HATH DONE=SHEKINAH], make the restored-fellowship-noise [MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE = 161 = SWEET COUNSEL = IN THY PRESENCE] before the Lord, the Jesus-King [THE KING=74=JESUS=MENORAH], in the bride-praise-gate posture [BEFORE THE LORD THE KING = 207 = PRAISE HER IN THE GATES]." Psa 98 has no verb-substitution boomerang (like Psa 55's 160-handshake or Psa 140's OVERTHROW boomerang). Its central engineering is the chapter integer doubled as the carrier-integer, executed three times inside the psalm:

Three different phrases across the first three verses all carry LOVINGKINDNESS. The sealed cap is named three times in succession by the act-verbs of the opening triad — the holy arm (act), the open-shewing (act), and the remembering (act). The 174 describes the mode of God's first three actions: lovingkindness-cap × 3.
This satisfies the open-question B1 from the followups document: "does every major Davidic supplication psalm carry 174 at v6 or thereabouts?" — Psa 98 is not Davidic and not supplicatory, yet it carries 174 three times in its opening triad. The 174 is broader than Davidic-supplicatory; it tracks act-verbs of divine self-disclosure.
v3 — MERCY = 64. This is the Psa 96 / Psa 55 / Psa 64 jubilee-integer. The whole v3 is anchored on MERCY (=64=JUBILEE) and TRUTH (=87=MY LORD).
