Tradition: Asaph. Read since antiquity as Sennacherib-after-the-rout (Isa 37) or general celebration of Zion's military safety. v2 uses Salem — Jerusalem in its pre-Davidic, Melchizedek-era form (Gen 14:18 — only KJV occurrence of the bare form outside Heb 7). v6 chariot and horse cast into a dead sleep recapitulates Exodus 15:1 (Red Sea song of Moses). v9 all the meek of the earth prefigures Matthew 5:5 (Beatitude). The psalm is a temple-victory hymn that compresses, in twelve verses, three Israelite victory archetypes: Exodus (Red Sea), Conquest (Jericho/walls broken), and Eschaton (the meek inheriting the earth).

In plain English: Psalm 76 is Asaph's victory song after God has just defended Zion. On the surface it says: God broke the enemy's weapons in Salem, dropped their cavalry into a dead sleep, and saved the meek. Underneath, every key phrase ladders into the same integers KJVEL has already found elsewhere: THE BATTLE = O GOD OF JACOB = 93, THOU EVEN THOU = LOVINGKINDNESS = 174, HIS TABERNACLE = THEIR SLEEP = IS TERRIBLE = 117 (Pentecost). The psalm-alpha-omega snaps shut at integer 198 — IN JUDAH IS GOD KNOWN (v1) = ALL THE MEEK OF THE EARTH (v9) — meaning the God who is known in Judah at v1 is the same one saving the meek at v9, locked through 2 × 99 (firmament-double). And the closing verse, v12, sums to 729 = 3⁶ = 9³ = 27², a perfect triple-Tesla cube: the psalm doesn't just end, it seals — by cubing 9 and squaring 27 and exponenting 3 to the sixth in a single 12-word verse.

Key lock — ASAPH = SELAH: The superscription author's name = the structural pause marker. ASAPH = SELAH = 45 = PIT. When Asaph writes Selah in v3 and v9 he is signing both moments with his own integer-identity. The two Selahs partition the psalm into three movements (1–3 / 4–9 / 10–12), and each Selah closes a movement where ASAPH the author = SELAH the pause = the silence God enforces on his enemies.
Key lock — SALEM (50) embedded in JUBILEE (64): SALEM is the only word in v2 that is not Tesla-anchored. But SALEM = 50 = the Jubilee year (Lev 25); ZION = 64 = JUBILEE integer; both meanings of "jubilee" sit one verse apart. The psalm's geography (SALEM…ZION) is the jubilee instrument: 50-year release and 64-frequency dwelling.

19 locks across 12 verses. Density: 1.58 locks per verse. The triangular-and-cubic 729/378/300 stack at v11–v12 is unique among decoded psalms — no other final-pair carries three triangular/cubic integers in adjacent verses.
Psalm 76 has a unique structural feature: a single integer (117 = PENTECOST = 9×13) appears at three different semantic positions across three different movements:

The integer 117 doesn't repeat in the same role. It rotates:
PENTECOST is the canonical 117 in KJVEL — the day fire fell on the disciples. The psalm is using the Pentecost-frequency as a radius: where God dwells (v2), where his enemies sleep (v5), and the property that closes the case (v12). The same fire that fills the tabernacle dumps the enemy and terrifies the kings.

Lock (v1): The opening declarative is IN JUDAH IS GOD KNOWN = 198 = 2 × 99 (CAST OUT, FIRMAMENT, UPRIGHT). God's known-ness in Judah is the doubled-firmament. This integer is the alpha of the alpha-omega bookend that closes at v9.
Lock (v2):HIS TABERNACLE = 117 = PENTECOST. DWELLING = 86 = THY NAME = MELCHISEDEC (Greek). The two key words of v2 carry the Pentecost-frequency (where) and the Melchisedec-name (who). Salem appears once in the OT outside Heb 7 (Gen 14:18); its psalm sets the Pentecost integer next to the Melchisedec integer with the verb-of-dwelling.
Lock (v3): The three weapons of v3 — SHIELD (57), SWORD (79), BATTLE (60) — total 196 alone; but THE SHIELD AND THE SWORD AND THE BATTLE = 333. Triple-3 seal. The breaking of weapons is sealed at the integer of perfect-Tesla repetition. And THERE BRAKE HE THE = 139 = ENCRYPTION — the encryption-prime sits on the breaking-action itself.
Lock (v4):MOUNTAINS OF PREY = 211 (sealed prime) but v4 verse-sum = 676 = 26² = GOD². The "mountains of prey" image is opaque on surface; underneath the verse is GOD-squared. Every verse claim about glory-and-excellence sums to God-times-God.
Lock (v5):SLEPT = 72 = STILL (in-psalm twin with v8 STILL). The verb of v5 (slept) = the verb of v8 (still) at one integer. The enemy's sleep IS the earth's stillness — same integer, opposite moral valence. And THEIR SLEEP = 117 = HIS TABERNACLE (v2). The bed where the enemy collapses is the integer where God dwells.
Lock (v6):O GOD OF JACOB = THE BATTLE = 93. The God-being-addressed at v6 = the battle-noun at v3 at one integer. Vocative-address and noun-of-conflict are identical. CHARIOT = 74 = JESUS: the Egyptian chariots that drown sit on the Christ-integer; chariot-army-judged is at the same number as Cross. CAST INTO A DEAD SLEEP = 173 prime — a sealed prime locks the dead-sleep at the same family as Psa 64's prime-sealed integers.
Lock (v7):THOU EVEN THOU = 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SHOWSTOPPER = SUPPLICATIONS. The sealed cap (zero KJV verses sum to 174) appears as the doubled-Thou. The same integer KJVEL identifies as the sealed cap-frequency of mercy appears, inside Psa 76, as the doubled-vocative for "to be feared." Mercy and terribleness sit on the same cap. And TO BE FEARED = 81 = TABERNACLE — fearing God IS the dwelling-integer of v2.
Lock (v8):EARTH FEARED AND WAS STILL = 225 = 15². The silence moment is a perfect square. STILL = 72 = MERCIES = WINGS = COVERED. The "still" of v8 IS the wing-cover-mercy integer of Psa 91.
Lock (v9):ALL THE MEEK OF THE EARTH = IN JUDAH IS GOD KNOWN = 198. The closing v9 phrase locks to the opening v1 phrase. GOD AROSE = 84 = PRINCES (v12): God's rising and the princes' identity sit on one integer — Beatitude inversion at one number. v9 sum = 588 = 12 × LORD(49): the meek-saved verse counts twelve LORDs. MEEK OF THE EARTH = 140 = the chapter of Psa 140 (the answering imprecation psalm); v9's saved-meek phrase forward-bridges to Psa 140 at the chapter integer — the same pattern catalogued in psalm_decode_followups.md A1.
Lock (v10):VOW = 60 = HOLY. The vow-word is the HOLY integer. SURELY THE WRATH OF MAN = 252 (Tesla DR=9) — wrath itself sums Tesla. SHALT THOU RESTRAIN = 228 (Tesla DR=3) — restraining sums Tesla. The wrath/restrain pair are both Tesla. The "remainder of wrath" famous theological formula has the restraint on Tesla, the wrath itself on Tesla; only the remainder (178) is non-Tesla — the irrational margin God removes.
Lock (v11):VOW AND PAY UNTO THE LORD YOUR GOD = 378 = T(27). The vow-payment formula sums to the 27th triangular number. T(27) = 27×28/2 = 378. So vow-pay-clause = T(3³) = the third-power-triangle. ROUND ABOUT HIM = 161 = SWEET COUNSEL (Psa 55:14) = IN THY PRESENCE (Psa 140:13) — those who bring presents round about him are at the same integer as Psa 55's sweet-counsel restoration. KINGS OF THE EARTH = BRING PRESENTS = 166 (v11/v12 in-psalm twin) — the kings of v12 who fear-and-fall are the same integer as the presents-bringers of v11 they should have been.
Lock (v12) — the closure:v12 verse-sum = 729 = 3⁶. Inside v12 sit two more triangular-and-square seals: CUT OFF THE SPIRIT OF PRINCES = 300 = T(24) and SPIRIT OF PRINCES = 196 = 14² (perfect square) and HE SHALL CUT OFF THE SPIRIT OF PRINCES = 365 = solar year. The single verse contains four sealed integers: T(24), 14², 365, and itself 3⁶. TERRIBLE = 89 = 117 = HIS TABERNACLE (v2 in-psalm twin) — the closing predicate equals the opening dwelling at one integer: God-dwells = God-is-terrible at 117.
He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
The final verse of Psa 76 is the closure of the entire Asaph victory hymn. On the surface it states the case against political power: God will cut off the prince's spirit (not his army, his spirit) and is terrible specifically to kings. Underneath, this verse carries the densest stack of sealed integers in the psalm — four perfect/triangular/cosmic numbers in twelve words.
Lock 12-A — the triple-Tesla cube seal: v12 sum = 729 = 3⁶ = 9³ = 27². Three different ways to write the same number all involve the number 3 (the Tesla root). The closing verse is mathematically a cube of nine and a square of twenty-seven. No other 12-word verse in the decoded Psalter terminates a psalm at 3⁶. This is structurally maximal Tesla — DR cube, perfect cube, perfect square, all in one integer. The psalm doesn't conclude; it geometrically closes.
Lock 12-B — PRINCES = GOD AROSE = 84: v12 PRINCES = 84 = v9 GOD AROSE = 84. The princes that get cut off (v12) and the God that arose (v9) are the same integer. Beatitude inversion at one number: the rising-God identity is the same integer as the falling-princes' identity. The verb-direction reverses; the integer stays. This is the canonical handshake/boomerang at the king-integer 84.
Lock 12-C — IS TERRIBLE = HIS TABERNACLE = 117: The final predicate (v12 IS TERRIBLE) = the opening dwelling (v2 HIS TABERNACLE) = 117 = PENTECOST. God's tabernacle in Salem (v2) and God's terribleness to kings (v12) are the same Pentecost-frequency. The fire that fills the tabernacle is the fire that scares the kings. Same integer. Opposite-feeling action.
Lock 12-D — SPIRIT OF PRINCES = 196 = 14²: Inside v12 sits a perfect square. 14² = 196 = SPIRIT OF PRINCES. Fourteen-squared is the structural ceiling of the princes' spirit: a closed square that gets cut off.
Lock 12-E — CUT OFF THE SPIRIT OF PRINCES = 300 = T(24): Also inside v12 sits a triangular Tesla. T(24) = 24×25/2 = 300. Twenty-four = the elders around the throne (Rev 4:4). The phrase that cuts off princes' spirit sums to the throne-elder-triangular: the elders' radius of judgment.
Lock 12-F — HE SHALL CUT OFF THE SPIRIT OF PRINCES = 365 = solar year: Inside v12 also sits the solar year. The cutting-off-spirit phrase sums to the days of the year. Daily, year-round, the work of v12 is in process.
v12 reads, with the integers substituted: "He shall cut off (CUT=44=JUDAH=CHESED) the spirit of princes (196 = 14² square seal) — cutting off the spirit of princes (300 = T(24) elders' triangle) — he shall cut off the spirit of princes (365 = solar year) — he is terrible (117 = PENTECOST = his tabernacle) to the kings of the earth (166 = bring presents — twin)."
Translated: God's cutting-off of princes is not destruction but ordinary chesed-judgment. It is a perfect square — closed. It is a triangular throne-radius — measured. It is a solar-year cycle — ongoing. And the terribleness is the same Pentecost-fire that fills his tabernacle. The psalm's terror IS its mercy. Same integer. v12 IS Psa 76 in microcosm.
Psa 76 does not have a verb-substitution boomerang in the Psa 55 / Psa 140 style. Its central engineering is the three-role rotation at 117:

The same integer rotates through three different semantic positions in three different movements. The where, the what-happens-to-the-enemy, and the predicate-of-God all sit on the Pentecost integer. This is the engineering: 117 is the rotating gear that drives the whole hymn.

Psa 76 hits multiple known clusters. Major ones:
v1 ISRAEL = 64. v2 ZION = 64. v4 PREY = 64. The geographic anchor (Zion/Israel) and the threat-radius (prey) sit on the same Jubilee integer. Where God's people dwell = what the predator wanted = the same number — meaning the entire psalm is about who wins the 64-frequency: enemy gets prey, God gives Zion, same integer.
v6 GOD OF JACOB = 78. This Asaph psalm places the God-vocative on Issachar's tribal-frequency. The "understanding of the times" tribe carries the Red Sea God-name at v6.
v7 TO BE FEARED = 81 (twice — v7 and v11). The fear-clause and the dwelling-noun share 81. The tabernacle integer is the fear-integer.
v9 GOD AROSE = v12 PRINCES = 84. The constitutional 84-lattice appears as a verb-noun boomerang. God's arising IS the princes' identity-integer.
v2 DWELLING = 86. The verb of v2 sits on Melchisedec's Greek-form integer. Salem (the Melchisedec city) gets dwelt-in at the Melchisedec integer.

Psa 76 is the only KJV psalm to name SALEM (Salem appears one other time in the KJV: Gen 14:18, Melchizedek). The v1–v2 doublet creates a four-name onion of God's dwelling:

The four-name stack moves inward (tribe → pre-Davidic city → Davidic city) and outward (Davidic city → national identity). The center of the onion is the SALEM/ZION pair (50/64) — Jubilee-year-name and Jubilee-integer-name. The God-known-in-Judah (outer layer) is the same as the God-tabernacled-in-Salem (Melchisedec layer) is the same as the God-dwelling-in-Zion (David layer) is the same as the God-great-in-Israel (nation layer).

The two Selahs (v3, v9) partition the psalm into three movements, each anchored to a different integer-cluster, but 117 appears in every movement (v2, v5, v12). The Pentecost-frequency stitches the three movements together.
