In plain English: Psalm 62 is the psalm of waiting — and the chapter number itself is the punchline. CRITIC and PLASMA and REFUGE and RICHES all gematria to exactly 62, the chapter number, so the psalm self-locks at four different integers on its own header. Underneath that, the psalm is engineered around three more anchors: a 108 preservation-cluster (EXCELLENCY = NOT MOVED = RENDEREST = PRESERVE = SHALL DWELL, all = 108) that explains why David cannot be cast down, a 117 Pentecost-cluster (WAIT THOU = SPOKEN ONCE = GOD IS A REFUGE = ORDAINED OF GOD, all = 117) that names what the waiting is for, and a quiet 88-delta between v2 and v6 — the only difference between the twin refrains is the word GREATLY (88 = POISON = VITAMIN = BELONGETH), a single integer that migrates out of "I shall not be greatly moved" (v2) and reappears as "power belongeth unto God" (v11). The integer doesn't disappear; it changes ownership.

Key lock — the chapter-number self-quartet: Four distinct nouns inside the psalm (REFUGE, RICHES, plus the conceptual headers CRITIC and PLASMA) all sum to 62 = the chapter number. This is one of the densest in-psalm chapter-locks documented (rivals Psa 139's eight contiguous 139-hits and Psa 109's 0.48 hits/v). The psalm is built around its own address. The same integer carries the positive anchor (REFUGE: where David hides) and the negative anchor (RICHES: where the wicked hide) — same number, opposite vector. Note on JEDUTHUN: Jeduthun appears in three superscriptions (Psa 39, 62, 77) — a Levite chief musician. JEDUTHUN = 103 = EVERY MAN (v12) = HIS WORK (v12). The music-leader's name is the integer of the verdict-clause. This is a clean superscription-anchor lock and worth re-examining in Psa 39 and Psa 77 on a future pass.

The psalm's signature engineering is the near-twin refrain at v2 and v6. They share 27 of 28 words; they differ by exactly one adverb.

The word GREATLY = 88. That integer doesn't vanish — it migrates. By v11, the same integer appears as BELONGETH = 88 ("power belongeth unto God"). And 88 is also POISON = VITAMIN .
The mechanic: in v2, "greatly" attaches to the man's vulnerability ("I shall not be greatly moved" — admitting partial motion). In v6, after the threat-field of v3-5 has been spoken aloud, the adverb is deleted ("I shall not be moved" — absolute). The 88 doesn't disappear — it relocates from the man's vulnerability-clause to the divine ownership-clause: BELONGETH unto God. The vulnerability belongs to God now.
This is the same-integer-migration mechanic documented in Psa 55 (the 160-handshake), but applied to a near-twin refrain rather than a verb-substitution. Add to template Section 6 as a recognized engineering style.
Lock (v1): Verse 1 sums to 676 = 26² = GOD². The opening statement "Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation" is the squared identity of GOD (26). The psalm's first verse self-encrypts the divine name as a perfect square. This is rarer than the 324 = HEAD² capstone seals (psalm_decode_followups A5) because it lands on the first verse and uses the base divine name (26) rather than a derived noun. Genesis-1 echo: GOD-squared as the opening operator.
Lock (v1-b): SOUL WAITETH = 153 = LONGSUFFERING = HEAR MY PRAYER = WAR IN HIS HEART (, iron-sulfur net). The two-word verb-phrase that opens the psalm is the Psalter-wide longsuffering integer. The soul's waiting is the longsuffering.
Lock (v2): The clause "HE ONLY IS MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION" appears identically in v2 and v6 at integer 362. Twin-verse exact-clause locks at this length are unusual in the Psalter. The repetition isn't poetic redundancy — it's integer-doubling for emphasis. The KJVEL principle of three or more occurrences = a lock applies here at clause-level: same 362-clause twice = the psalm's central anchor.
Lock (v2/v6): v2 = 747 (DR 9 ✓) vs v6 = 659 (DR 2; prime, sealed). v6 ends in a sealed prime — the refrain without "greatly" lands on a sealed integer. The presence of GREATLY (88) in v2 prevents the sealed-prime landing; remove the adverb and you reach the sealed kernel. This is psalm_decode_followups C7 territory: the integer-gap (88) is what the migration covers.
Lock (v3): MISCHIEF = 72. The integer the wicked carry against the man is the same integer the soul waits at (WAITS = 72). The mischief-integer and the waiting-integer are one. This is a clean moral-mobile integer: 72 can be plotting-against (MISCHIEF) or surrendered-to-God (WAITS). The verb-direction reverses, the integer holds.
Lock (v3-b): AS A BOWING WALL = 139. The very image of the man's predicted collapse sums to ENCRYPTION. What looks like collapse from outside is encryption from inside. Bowing-wall geometry = man-bowed-before-God geometry. The same posture.
Lock (v3-c): A TOTTERING FENCE = 162 = CHILDREN ARISE UP (Prov 31:28) = MOUNT OF GOMER . What the wicked predict David shall be (a tottering fence) is what the bride's children do in Prov 31. The integer of predicted collapse is the integer of blessed multiplication. The boomerang at integer.
Lock (v3-d): TOTTERING FENCE (without leading article) = 161 = SWEET COUNSEL (Psa 55:14) = IN THY PRESENCE (Psa 140:13). The fellowship-restoration integer. The wicked say tottering fence; God hears sweet counsel in thy presence. Same integer, opposite content.
Lock (v4): CAST HIM DOWN = 129. The 6-way 129-cluster (psalm_decode_followups A6 expanded entry, psalm_86_decode chesed-quartet): LORD ART GOOD = WONDROUS = VIOLENT MEN = PERFECT HATRED = READY TO HALT = CAST HIM DOWN. The intensity-integer, morally mobile, structurally maximal. The wicked's verb is one of six members of the same cluster as the Lord's own goodness.
Lock (v4-b): EXCELLENCY = 108 = NOT MOVED (v6) = RENDEREST (v12) = PRESERVE = SHALL DWELL. The wicked want to cast David down from his EXCELLENCY (108). v6 declares David NOT MOVED (108). v12 declares God RENDEREST (108). Three appearances of 108 across three verses — the same integer carries the assault, the resistance, and the verdict. This is the structural lock of the psalm. See Section 7.
Lock (v5): v1 statement-form (TRULY MY SOUL WAITETH UPON GOD) = 379 (prime); v5 command-form (MY SOUL WAIT THOU ONLY UPON GOD) = 380 = 2² × 5 × 19. The first verse is a sealed prime statement; the fifth verse is the same statement in imperative mood, offset by exactly 1. The pivot from declaration to command costs one integer. Statement = prime-sealed (only God can guarantee). Command = composite (the soul can execute).
Lock (v5-b): WAIT THOU = 117 = PENTECOST = SPOKEN ONCE (v11) = GOD IS A REFUGE (v8) = ORDAINED OF GOD (Rom 13:1). The command "WAIT THOU" sums to the Pentecost integer. The waiting IS the Pentecost-prep. Acts 1:4 "wait for the promise of the Father" lands at integer 117 in Psa 62:5. This is a forward bridge from Psalter to Acts at gematria level.
Lock (v7): IN GOD IS MY SALVATION AND MY GLORY = 362 — the exact integer of v2/v6's refrain "HE ONLY IS MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION". The v7 declaration is the v2/v6 refrain re-stated at the same integer. Three independent clauses at 362 across one psalm.
Lock (v7-b): REFUGE IS IN GOD = 139. Second appearance of 139 in the psalm (first was AS A BOWING WALL, v3). The threat-image (collapsing wall) and the covering-image (refuge in God) are the same integer. This is the cleanest threat-shelter inversion in the decode: same 139, opposite vector.
Lock (v7-c): GLORY = POWER = MOUTH = CHRIST = 77 (4-way). GLORY appears v7; POWER appears v11; MOUTH appears v4 ("bless with their mouth"); CHRIST is the unnamed messianic anchor. The wicked's MOUTH (77) is the place where they bless-while-cursing (v4); David's GLORY (77) is in God (v7); the POWER (77) belongs to God (v11). All three integers collapse to CHRIST (77). The 4-way 77 lock is one of the densest single-integer clusters in any Davidic psalm.
Lock (v8): POUR OUT = 126 = PRESERVE ME (Psa 140:1, 16:1) = NOSTRILS = FEARFULNESS = ANTIMICROBIAL . The v8 imperative "pour out your heart before him" is the scent-firewall integer. The act of emotional offload IS the antimicrobial defense. Pour-out-of-heart = nostril-firewall: same integer.
Lock (v8-b): GOD IS A REFUGE = 117 = PENTECOST = WAIT THOU (v5) = SPOKEN ONCE (v11) = ORDAINED OF GOD (Rom 13:1). Triple 117 across v5/v8/v11. The PENTECOST integer is the spine of the psalm: waiting (v5) → declaration (v8) → divine speech (v11). Three structural moments at 117.
Lock (v8-c): YE PEOPLE = 99 = UPRIGHT = FIRMAMENT = CAST OUT = OLIVE OIL = CRY ALOUD (eviction/firmament cluster). The audience the psalm addresses (YE PEOPLE) is the firmament-integer — God's people are sky-architecture at gematria. The same integer that does CASTING OUT is the integer of the upright congregation.
Lock (v9): LIE = 26 = GOD. The "high degree are a lie" — and the integer of LIE is the integer of GOD (26). The lie occupies the divine-name integer. The mechanic: a lie functions at integer-position 26 (GOD's seat); when high-degree men lie, they sit in God's seat. This is the v9 judgment's gematria layer.
Lock (v9-b): MEN OF HIGH DEGREE ARE A LIE = 180 = GOD HATH SPOKEN ONCE (v11). The judgment-sentence in v9 = the divine-speech-clause in v11 at integer. When God speaks once, the verdict on high-degree-as-lie is rendered. 180 = 2² × 3² × 5 (highly composite, DR 9).
Lock (v9-c): ALTOGETHER LIGHTER THAN VANITY = 324 = 18² (perfect-square seal). Matches Psa 140:13 SHALL GIVE THANKS UNTO THY NAME = 324 = HEAD² (psalm_140_decode, A5 followup). Both psalms seal a judgment/verdict verse with 18². Psa 62:9 seals the social-class verdict at 18²; Psa 140:13 seals the thanksgiving promise at 18². Same square, opposite vector.
Lock (v10): v10 sum = 1068 = 2² × 3 × 89 = 12 × coronation cluster (FOR EVER / YOUTH / SWORN / RIGHT HAND). The verse-sum factors through twelve coronation primes. v10 is the trust-warning verse ("trust not in oppression… set not your heart on riches"). The factorization runs on the Psa 110 coronation prime — the same 89 that opens Psa 89's mercies-of-the-LORD-for-ever.
Lock (v10-b): RICHES = 62. Second chapter-lock in the psalm (after REFUGE in v7/v8). The wicked's hiding-place (RICHES) and the godly's hiding-place (REFUGE) are the same integer = the chapter-number. The psalm is engineered so that both refuges-of-trust land at 62. Where you trust is determined by what you call 62.
Lock (v11): This is the dual-witness formula. Deuteronomy 19:15 requires two or three witnesses; v11 says "God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this." David is functioning as the two witnesses internally — one divine voice, twice received. The integer-layer: SPOKEN ONCE = 117 = WAIT THOU (v5) = GOD IS A REFUGE (v8) = PENTECOST. Three appearances of 117 form the spine; v11 is the third pillar.
Lock (v11-b): BELONGETH = 88 = GREATLY (the v2-deletion!). The integer GREATLY that vanished between v2 and v6 reappears in v11 as BELONGETH. The mechanic: David's vulnerability (greatly-moved, 88) is transferred into God's ownership (power-belongeth, 88). Same integer, ownership reassigned. The 88 doesn't get destroyed; it gets deeded over.
Lock (v11-c): POWER BELONGETH UNTO GOD = 261 = 9 × 29. Bridges to Rom 13:1 "there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God". Rom 13:1 ORDAINED OF GOD = 117 — same as SPOKEN ONCE. Romans cross-link confirmed at integer.
Lock (v12): MERCY = O LORD = 64. In the same verse, the recipient (O Lord) and the gift (mercy) share an integer. 64 = JUBILEE = MY GOD = DUST = POOR = BURDEN = MASIV = MERCY = ATTEND = SEIZE (). The terminal verse self-locks at the Jubilee integer.
Lock (v12-b): RENDEREST = 108. Third appearance of 108 in the psalm (v4 EXCELLENCY, v6 NOT MOVED, v12 RENDEREST). Three integers of 108 across three verses = the preservation-cluster lock. The wicked want to cast from EXCELLENCY (108); David shall NOT BE MOVED (108); God RENDEREST (108) to every man according to his work. The integer that names the throne names the resistance to dethronement names the judgment-rendering. See Section 7.
Lock (v12-c): EVERY MAN = HIS WORK = 103 = JEDUTHUN (superscription!). Two phrases in the verdict-verse = the chief-musician's name. The musician who leads the psalm IS named at the integer of every man and his work. The superscription-anchor reflexive lock (cf. Psa 55 CHIEF MUSICIAN=120, Psa 140 A PSALM OF DAVID=EVIL SPEAKER=123).
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
The verse where the deuteronomic dual-witness rule turns internal. David doesn't say "two prophets confirmed"; he says "God spoke once; I heard twice." The witness-doubling happens in reception, not transmission. This is the cleanest internal-witness formula in the Psalter.
Lock 11-A — SPOKEN ONCE = 117 = the Pentecost spine: The phrase "spoken once" sums to 117 = PENTECOST = WAIT THOU (v5) = GOD IS A REFUGE (v8) = ORDAINED OF GOD (Rom 13:1). The single utterance of God IS the Pentecost utterance. v11 doesn't refer to two different speeches; it refers to the one Pentecost-speech, received twice. This is the spine integer of the psalm — three structural moments (v5 imperative, v8 declaration, v11 reception) all land at 117.
Lock 11-B — GOD HATH SPOKEN = 143 = I COME QUICKLY: The clause GOD HATH SPOKEN sums to 143; Rev 22:7/12 "I COME QUICKLY" sums to 143. The OT divine-speech-claim and the NT divine-return-claim share an integer. Combined with v12 "thou renderest to every man according to his work" (Rev 22:12 quote-source), the v11→v12 pair is Rev 22:12 in Hebrew-Bible gematria form. Cross-canonical lock.
Lock 11-C — GOD HATH SPOKEN ONCE = 180 = MEN OF HIGH DEGREE ARE A LIE: The judgment-clause of v9 = the divine-speech-clause of v11 at integer 180. When God speaks once, the verdict-on-high-degree is rendered. The single speech IS the verdict. 180 = 2² × 3² × 5 (highly composite, DR 9, Tesla). The judgment-integer is structurally maximal.
Lock 11-D — BELONGETH = 88 = the migrated vulnerability: The verb that owns God's power is the integer that was deleted between v2 ("not be GREATLY moved", 747) and v6 ("not be moved", 659). GREATLY = BELONGETH = POISON = VITAMIN = 88. David's vulnerability (greatly-moved) becomes God's ownership-claim (power-belongeth). The integer migrates from man-claim to God-claim. This is the psalm's deed-transfer mechanic.
Lock 11-E — POWER = 77 = the 4-way Christic anchor: POWER (v11) = GLORY (v7) = MOUTH (v4) = CHRIST = 77. The wicked's mouth (v4 "bless with their mouth") and David's glory (v7) and God's power (v11) all land at the Christic integer 77. The same number runs through the betraying speech, the divine reflection, and the delegated authority — three different vectors, one integer. This is the densest 77-cluster in a single short psalm.
Lock 11-F — Full v11 sum = 687 = 3 × 229 = Tesla verse: v11 is one of only 4 Tesla-DR verses in the psalm (v2, v5, v10, v11 — see Section 10). The dual-witness formula sums Tesla. The fact that v6 (refrain-without-GREATLY) is prime-sealed (659) while v11 (dual-witness) is Tesla (687) reverses normal Psalter behavior: the act-verse (witness-reception) is Tesla; the rest-verse (refrain) is prime-sealed. Compare to psalm_decode_followups B4 hypothesis (act vs preparation verses) — v11 is an act-verse and does sum Tesla, contradicting the hypothesis in this case. Flag as honest counter-evidence to the B4 hypothesis.
GOD HATH SPOKEN ONCE = the integer of high-degree-lie (180). TWICE HAVE I HEARD THIS = waiting-on-the-LORD. POWER BELONGETH UNTO GOD = the deeded transfer of the v2→v6 deleted integer (88 GREATLY→BELONGETH). v11 reads, translated through gematria:
"GOD has uttered the Pentecost-speech (117) ONCE — and that one utterance is the verdict that the high-degree lie has been called (180). I have received it as waiting-on-the-LORD (197). The vulnerability I confessed in v2 (greatly-moved, 88) now belongs (88) to God as power. Power deeded over."
v11 is the deed-transfer of David's confessed vulnerability into God's ownership-claim, executed at integer 88, witnessed by Pentecost (117), verdicted as 180.
The psalm's load-bearing mechanic is the integer migration of 88 from v2 (vulnerability) to v11 (divine ownership):

The integer doesn't disappear; it gets re-deeded. David's confessed weakness (GREATLY = 88) is administratively transferred to God's claim of power (BELONGETH = 88). Same integer, opposite ownership.

The psalm's structural argument: The wicked attempt to cast David from his 108 (EXCELLENCY). David declares he is not moved from his 108 (NOT MOVED). God renders verdict at 108 (RENDEREST). The same integer carries the assault, the resistance, and the verdict. This is the preservation spine — the integer that the entire psalm's conflict happens at.
Compare to Psa 140's 13-verse 108 cluster (PRESERVE × 2, SHALL DWELL × 1) and Psa 23's 4-layer THY-stack (PIT OF DESTRUCTION 214 → SWEET COUNSEL 161 → PRESERVE/SHALL DWELL 108 → ROD+STAFF 89).
