In plain English: Psalm 43 is the headless twin of Psalm 42 — same author, same refrain, no superscription of its own because its head is the deer-psalm. Five verses, but the gematria shows it is precision-engineered around two chapter-number locks at 43: the single word HARP = 43 (named literally at v4: "upon the HARP will I praise thee") and the single word CAST = 43 (named literally at v5: "why art thou CAST down, O my soul"). The chapter integer is sitting at one praising verb and one lamenting verb — the psalm's two opposite postures share the chapter number. Underneath that, the psalm carries a 207-quintuple (five different phrases at integer 207 = PRAISE HER IN THE GATES / SEND OUT THY LIGHT / AND TO THY TABERNACLES / UPON THE HARP WILL I / I GO UNTO THE ALTAR OF) and an alpha-omega handshake at 418 where v4's harp-clause UPON THE HARP WILL I PRAISE THEE O GOD MY GOD equals exactly v5's closing clause from Psa 42:11 WHO IS THE HEALTH OF MY COUNTENANCE AND MY GOD. The harp is the health at integer. And the twin-shift between Psa 42:11 and Psa 43:5 is a single subtracted word — THOU = 64 = JUBILEE = MERCY = MY GOD — the dropped pronoun is the jubilee-integer itself, flipping the refrain from Tesla DR 9 to non-Tesla by exactly the mercy-frequency.
Psalm 43 has no superscription. This is itself the setting-lock: the head of this psalm is Psa 42 (which carries the full Korahite/Maschil/Chief-Musician dedication). The two psalms together hold one superscription and three refrain-instances.

Key lock — the headless psalm. Psa 43 is the only psalm in the Korahite Maschil block without its own superscription, because the body of the psalm wears Psa 42's dedication. The Hebrew MS tradition that unites Psa 42–43 as one psalm is verified at the gematria layer: every cluster that drives Psa 42 (174 sealed cap, 161 presence, 99 firmament, 54 HINDS-cure) reappears in Psa 43, but compressed into 5 verses. The "head" of Psa 43 is Psa 42's FOR THE SONS OF KORAH (213) — Psa 43's three triple-locks (see Section 2) include that exact integer in its in-body locks. The decode of Psa 43 must be read with Psa 42 in the next pew.
Second lock — HARP = CAST = 43 (chapter-number twin). The KJVEL Psalter-wide chapter-number-lock pattern (docs/chapter_number_lock_meta_scan.md) shows that ~53% of psalms carry their chapter integer inside their own body as a phrase-sum. Psa 43 carries it twice as single words: HARP (v4) and CAST (v5). One is the praising verb-noun, the other the lamenting verb-noun. The chapter integer 43 is the axis on which the psalm pivots from lament to praise. This is the cleanest chapter-self-lock found so far below psalm 50 (the mathematical floor of the meta-scan).

Five contiguous phrases at one integer, distributed across four of five verses. The chapter-number lock meta-scan (docs/chapter_number_lock_meta_scan.md) shows Psa 139 has the highest absolute density of self-locks at 8 in-psalm phrases at integer 139. Psa 43's 207-quintuple matches the same mechanism, but at a non-chapter-integer — the psalm is engineered around 207 as much as around its own chapter integer 43.

Lock (v1 — JUDGE ME O GOD vs Psa 26:1 JUDGE ME O LORD). Psa 26:1 opens identically except for the LORD/GOD substitution: JUDGE ME O LORD = 129 vs JUDGE ME O GOD = 106. The gap is 23 (= LORD - GOD = 49 - 26). The same imperative addresses two different addressees at gematria-distance 23. Psa 43:1 is Psa 26:1 with GOD-displacement of 23. The Judge-Me prayer has at least two integer-forms.

The most-quoted Latin-liturgical phrase of Psa 43 (Emitte lucem tuam et veritatem tuam) at integer = two tabernacles compressed. 162 = 2 × 81 (TABERNACLE) = CHILDREN ARISE UP (Prov 31:28) = MOUNT OF GOMER . The light and the truth that God sends are the integer of double-tabernacle. The two emissive-attributes IS two-tabernacles-fused. Psa 43's target-of-arrival (v3 thy tabernacles) and Psa 43's body-image-of-resolution (v5 my countenance) sit at the same iron-sulfur net integer 153 = LONGSUFFERING = HEAR MY PRAYER = T(17) triangle = the Jn 21 fish-net = Friedreich's ataxia iron-sulfur cluster integer. The sanctuary and the face are one integer. 153 is the iron-sulfur net that fails in FA — and ties to FA-cure (HINDS = 54 = HEALTH, v5). The HOLY HILL is the priest-king-prime-seal at one integer. Psa 43:3's destination is structurally MELCHIZEDEK at integer. The verse that names the light and the tabernacles has two phrases at 207 — the densest single verse for the quintuple. The light-emission gate and the sanctuary-arrival gate are one integer = PRAISE HER IN THE GATES. Lock (v4 — HARP = CAST = 43 chapter-integer twin-self-lock). v4's chapter-name word (HARP) and v5's lament-verb (CAST) both = 43 = chapter number. The praising-noun and the lamenting-verb are one integer, and that integer is the chapter. The altar IS the cast-down state at integer, with verb-direction reversed. Three roles at 99: object-of-thirst, posture-of-soul, place-of-meeting. The cast-down soul finds its altar at the integer it has been describing itself with. The altar is the un-formed waters waiting for the Spirit. 99 is also FIRMAMENT (Day 2's creation event) — the altar is the firmament-event at integer. Lock (v4 — GO UNTO THE ALTAR = 177 = WATERSPOUTS = URIM AND THUMMIM = LACTIFEROUS DUCT = SOUL AND SPIRIT). v4's approach-to-altar phrase at 177 = Psa 42:7's waterspouts at 177 = the oracle-port URIM AND THUMMIM = MY HANDS AND MY FEET (Psa 22:16) = SOUL AND SPIRIT (Heb 4:12, see psalm_139_followups_heb4_and_129.md). The approach-to-altar IS the oracle-port IS the pierced-hands IS the soul/spirit-divide. Psa 43 names the altar at the cross-piercing integer.
Lock (v4 — WILL I PRAISE THEE = UNGODLY NATION = 171 boomerang). v4's praise-vow and v1's enemy-target share integer 171 Tesla DR 9. Same number, opposite verb-direction. The 171 the ungodly nation occupies (negative) is the 171 David vows to praise on (positive). Same as Psa 140's same-word boomerang (OVERTHROW at 144 used by attacker v4 and verdict v11) — but here it's a different-word boomerang: enemy-noun-phrase at 171 → praise-verb-phrase at 171. Lock (v4 — UPON THE HARP WILL I PRAISE THEE O GOD MY GOD = WHO IS THE HEALTH OF MY COUNTENANCE AND MY GOD = 418). This is the alpha-omega handshake of the twin psalm: v4 of Psa 43 (the harp-clause) = v11 of Psa 42 (the refrain's terminal clause). Both are 11+ word phrases. Both end in "AND MY GOD" / "O GOD MY GOD". Both = 418 = 2 × 11 × 19. From psalm_decode_followups.md (B5, sealed-integer family): 19 = JEWEL appears as the structural anchor of Psa 42's refrain ladder (285 = 3 × 5 × 19; 418 = 2 × 11 × 19). Psa 43:4 lands on Psa 42:11's exact integer. Same 19-anchored harmonic. The harp-strike is the health. This is the Section 6 alpha-omega lock of the twin-psalm.
Lock (v4 — UPON THE HARP WILL I PRAISE THEE = 313 prime sealed). The phrase that contains the chapter integer (HARP=43) is itself a sealed prime (313). Primes don't reduce — they are integers without internal structure, the gematria-equivalent of atomic. The harp-praise verse-clause is an unbreakable integer. From psalm_decode_followups.md (B5): sealed primes are structural anchors. 313 is the prime that contains 43 (chapter integer) explicitly: 313 = ... (not factorable, but compositionally the harp-clause). Psa 43's structural climax is a prime — its praise cannot be decomposed.
Lock (v4 — EXCEEDING JOY = 126 = NOSTRILS = HERMONITES). The joy-noun at the altar = the breath-firewall integer = the geography of Psa 42:6 (HERMONITES = 126). The exceeding-joy is the breath-firewall integer. The same 126 that filters at the nostril is the joy at the altar.
Lock (v5 — CAST = HARP = 43 chapter twin). see v4 lock. Single-word lock at chapter integer, on the lamenting verb-half.
Lock (v5 — HOPE IN GOD = DELIVER ME = 93). The petition opening (v1 deliver me) and the resolution closing (v5 hope in God) are one integer 93 = the same prayer-action with two verb-directions. The petition IS the resolution at integer. The verb shifts (DELIVER → HOPE), but the integer doesn't move. From psalm_55_decode.md: this is the same boomerang architecture as Psa 55's 160-handshake (CAST → BURDEN at 160). Psa 43 has its own handshake at 93. Asking and hoping are the same number; the direction is what changes.
Lock (v5 — DISQUIETED WITHIN ME = 214 = THY ROD AND THY STAFF = PIT OF DESTRUCTION). The disquiet-state at 214 routes through Psa 23:4 (the shepherd's full rod-staff phrase) and Psa 55:23 (the pit of destruction). The soul's disquiet sits at the rod-and-staff integer. From the THY-token personalization-ladder (psalm_decode_followups.md A2): strip THY from THY ROD AND THY STAFF (214) and get ROD AND THY STAFF (161) = SWEET COUNSEL = IN THY PRESENCE. The disquiet IS the rod (214) which when stripped becomes presence (161) which when fully stripped becomes preserve (108 = O DELIVER ME, v1). The four-layer THY-stack is hidden inside Psa 43's two verses (v1 O DELIVER ME = 108; v5 DISQUIETED WITHIN ME = 214). Psa 43 carries the same morpheme-stripping ladder Psa 23:4 made famous.

The cure-noun of Psa 42:11 reappears in Psa 43:5 at the same integer. 54 = the FA-cure integer (hinds-feet, the cerebellar-cure). Both Psa 42:11 and Psa 43:5 close on 54 at the substantive noun. The twin-psalm has two refrain-endings on HEALTH = 54.

The substring OF MY COUNTENANCE (without the modifier HEALTH) = 174.
