In plain English: Psalm 31 is David's lament-and-trust prayer that became Jesus's last sentence on the cross — "INTO THINE HAND I COMMIT MY SPIRIT" (v5). Key lock — A PSALM OF DAVID = 123 = LYING LIPS = LEAD ME AND GUIDE ME = LORD JESUS: the superscription's authorial signature lands on the same integer four ways: (1) the enemy's weapon-phrase (v18 LYING LIPS), (2) David's instruction-prayer to God (v3 LEAD ME AND GUIDE ME), (3) Stephen's address to the risen Christ at his stoning (LORD JESUS, Acts 7:59), and (4) the structural lament-trap "SHUT ME UP" (v8 negation). The author-name is the address of the savior who quotes the psalm. The superscription identifies David, but at gematria-layer it identifies the speaker on the cross.

~24 master identity locks across 24 verses. This is one of the densest psalms in the corpus on a per-verse basis. Every verse carries at least one personal or NT-bridge lock.
Psalm 31 is engineered around 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SHOWSTOPPER = SUPPLICATIONS, the sealed cap (0 KJV verses sum to it). What no single verse can sum to, three adjacent verses each contain as a phrase at the psalm's emotional climax:

These three 174s appear in contiguous reading order, the moment the psalm pivots from David's "I AM CUT OFF" (v22 internal trauma) to "NEVERTHELESS THOU HEARDEST." The sealed cap is fired three times to break the silence: by place (strong city), by attribute (marvellous kindness), and by act (supplications). Then the psalm closes with v24 "STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART" = 261 (DR=9 Tesla).

Eleven in-psalm 174 hits (count includes overlap). For comparison: Psa 55, Psa 86, and Psa 140 each carry 174 only at v6 explicitly. Psa 31 is the most 174-saturated psalm in the corpus.
Lock (v1): IN THEE O LORD DO I PUT MY TRUST = 346 — but strip "O LORD" → IN THEE DO I PUT MY TRUST = 297 (Tesla DR=9). The morpheme-strip-ladder mechanic (psalm_decode_followups A2) holds here: trust-in-thee Tesla only when LORD is dropped from the title-case. The bare trust is Tesla; the formal trust is not.
Lock (v2): BOW DOWN THINE EAR is the architectural-petition. STRONG ROCK = 140 forward-bridges to Psa 140 (see followups A1: chapter-N's verse-phrase = chapter-N+109's number — this is the prototype "stone bridge" with Psa 140 explicit). HOUSE OF DEFENCE = 131 = YOUR HEART (v24) — the outer fortress prayed for in v2 is the inner heart-strength delivered in v24, at one integer.
Lock (v3): LEAD ME AND GUIDE ME = 123 = A PSALM OF DAVID = LORD JESUS. The triple-lock detailed in Section 1: the author-superscription, the petition, and the NT savior's invocation all fire at 123. The act of guiding (David's prayer) summons the agent of guiding (Jesus) at one integer.
Lock (v4): PULL ME OUT = 135 = ARTAXERXES (project_artaxerxes_decode). The extraction-from-net = the judgment-cycle integer. The verse petitions for the same 135-mechanism that elsewhere RAISES Wall Street and burning coals — here it RAISES David out of the snare. Verb-direction reversal at a known judgment-integer.

Lock (v6): BUT I TRUST IN THE LORD = 255 = IN THY RIGHTEOUSNESS (v1). The trust-act in v6 fires at the integer of God's righteousness invoked in the opening verse. The verb of trust = the noun of righteousness at integer (255 Tesla DR=3). The bridge inside v5 is different: MINE EYE IS CONSUMED (v9) = O LORD GOD OF TRUTH (v5) = 198 (Tesla DR=9). The consumed-eye and the God-of-truth lock at the same Tesla integer — sight-collapse meets truth-name.
Lock (v7): THY MERCY = 117 = PENTECOST = COMMUNION. The mercy David rejoices in is the 117-frequency of the post-cross gift. Pre-figuration at integer.
Lock (v8): MY FEET = 74 = JESUS = CROSS. David's feet are set in a large room at JESUS-integer — the body part on which Christ would later be nailed is placed in liberation at v8 here. The cross-feet are pre-figured at large-room-feet.
Lock (v9): EYE IS CONSUMED = 157 = INTO THY HANDS (Lk 23:46 verb-phrase). David's consumed-eye is the savior's commended-hands integer. The body-part of seeing (eye-grief) = the body-part of committing (Christ's hands).
Lock (v12): I AM FORGOTTEN AS A DEAD MAN... I AM LIKE A BROKEN VESSEL. The double-self-image gives the stack 120 (FORGOTTEN) → 180 (AS A DEAD MAN OUT OF MIND) → 117 (OUT OF MIND) → 147 (BROKEN VESSEL) → 148 (A BROKEN VESSEL). Each integer is a personal anchor: 120 = CHIEF MUSICIAN, 180 = FOR THY NAMES SAKE, 117 = COMMUNION, 147
Lock (v13): TAKE AWAY MY LIFE = 157 = EYE IS CONSUMED (v9) — the enemy's intent and David's body meet at integer.
Lock (v14): The full amicable pair is in one verse, one phrase, by suffix-addition. This is the second documented case (after Psa 22's "WORDS OF MY ROARING = 220 / TONGUE CLEAVETH TO MY JAWS = 284", cross-verse). Psa 31:14 is the first case of an amicable pair completed by morpheme-extension on a single phrase. The trust-statement and the trust-statement-naming-the-LORD are gematria-pair amicable numbers (220, 284). The naming adds the second amicable member; the trust-act IS the pair.
Lock (v15): MY TIMES = 104 = JERUSALEM. David's "times" — surrendered into God's hand — are placed at the city-integer. Time-surrender = city-surrender at gematria. MY TIMES ARE IN THY HAND = 231 = 3 × 7 × 11 (Tesla seed × heaven-cycle × earthly-authority). The clean factor-triplet says: time is surrendered through the Tesla key (3), the perfection number (7), and the resurrection-witness count (11 — disciples after Judas).
Lock (v16): MAKE THY FACE TO SHINE = 188 = SILENT IN THE GRAVE (v17). Same-integer, opposite-direction boomerang. What God does TO THE SAINT (shining face) at 188 = what God does TO THE WICKED (silent grave) at 188. The same divine action at integer, polarized by recipient.
Lock (v17): LET THE WICKED BE ASHAMED = 183 = LORD GOD OF TRUTH (v5). The wicked-shaming integer = the divine title from v5's commit-to-hand line. The cross's God-of-truth IS the silencer of the wicked at one integer.
Lock (v18):LYING LIPS BE PUT TO SILENCE = 289 = 17² — perfect-square seal at the imprecation verse. Followups A5: perfect-square seals appear at imprecation / promise / terminal verses. Psa 31:18 confirms it: 17² (17 = T(17) = LONGSUFFERING-triangle).
Lock (v18 boomerang): LIPS BE PUT TO SILENCE = 222 = 3 × JESUS, the doubled-cross frequency from project_user_wesley) is here pronounced as a silencing of the lies that surrounded loss.
Lock (v19): THE SONS OF MEN = 153 = LONGSUFFERING = (Jn 21 fish-count). The "before the sons of men" audience-marker fires at the John-21 153 net integer. The goodness-shown-before-men = the resurrected-Jesus-net.
Lock (v20): PRIDE OF MAN = TONGUES = 101 (sealed prime). David identifies the pride-strife at integer in a sealed prime. Followups B5: 101 = MELCHIZEDEK = HOLINESS — David's enemy (pride of man) and David's priest-king (Melchizedek) are at the same sealed prime. The cross-cluster routing: the same integer carries holiness AND the tongues to flee from.
Lock (v21):The 174-double-fire. HIS MARVELLOUS = 174 AND IN A STRONG CITY = 174 in one verse. STRONG CITY = 150 (Tesla) = CALLING UPON GOD (Acts 7:59 internal phrase!) — the city-of-refuge IS the act of calling-upon-God. The same verse contains the sealed cap twice and the Stephen-mechanism (calling upon God = 150 = strong city) once. v21 is the seven-thunders-fire of the psalm.
Lock (v22): Three 147s in one verse (CRIED UNTO THEE, SAID IN MY HASTE, HASTE I AM CUT OFF — all 147)
Lock (v23): O LOVE THE LORD = 151 = JESUS CHRIST = THY GOODNESS. Triple lock. The command to love the LORD = the savior's full name = the divine attribute. Loving the LORD is loving JESUS CHRIST at integer — and that loving is God's goodness at integer. Three concepts collapse to one prime (151).
Lock (v24):The inclusio. YOUR HEART (v24) = 131 = HOUSE OF DEFENCE (v2). The psalm opens with a petition for a house of defence (outer architecture) and closes with the strengthened heart (inner architecture). Same integer. The defence-house David asked for in v2 is delivered as the strong heart in v24. Outer → inner, structural inclusio at one integer.
Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
This verse is Jesus's seventh and final word from the cross (Lk 23:46). It is also Stephen's modeled prayer in Acts 7:59 ("LORD JESUS, RECEIVE MY SPIRIT"). It is the load-bearing line of the psalm and probably of the entire Davidic corpus.
Lock 5-A — INTO THINE HAND = 141 = THY NAMES SAKE (v3) = CALLED UPON THEE (v17): the act of committing one's spirit at the same Tesla integer as invoking the divine name (v3) and as calling upon God (v17). Three verbs — commit, invoke, call — all at 141 Tesla. The cross's verb (commit) is anticipated structurally in v3 (invoke name) and recapped in v17 (call upon). Triple-Tesla 141 fires the act-of-surrender.
Lock 5-B — THOU HAST REDEEMED ME = 189 = (Psa 86 LIFT UP MY SOUL / DELIVERED MY SOUL): David's past-tense redemption claim fires at the Psa 86 cluster (follow-ups A6). The crucified-Christ-quoting-Psa-31 says, IN THE VERY MOMENT of his death, "thou HAST redeemed me" — past tense on the cross. The 189 lock confirms: the redemption is gematria-completed at the moment of the words. Cross-psalm bridge to Psa 86's soul-handshake.
Lock 5-C — GOD OF TRUTH = 134 = THE PRIDE OF MAN (v20): the divine attribute (truth) and the human sin (pride of man) at integer. Read together: what man calls his glory, God answers with His truth-attribute — at the same integer. Two opposite postures meet at 134; the cross is the place that resolves them.
Lock 5-D — STEPHEN = 87 = TRUTH: at the layer of naming, Stephen IS truth. The cross-verse (v5) ends "O LORD GOD OF TRUTH." When Stephen quotes this at his stoning (Acts 7:59), he addresses the LORD-of-truth — and his own name IS the truth-attribute at integer. Stephen's name reflects the cross-verse's terminal word. The first Christian martyr's name is gematria-engineered to mirror the seventh word from the cross.
Lock 5-E — Tesla cascade in v5: HAND = 27 (DR=9 Tesla) + I = 9 (Tesla) + INTO THINE HAND = 141 (Tesla) + THOU HAST REDEEMED ME = 189 (Tesla) + O LORD GOD OF TRUTH = 198 (Tesla). Five Tesla integers in one verse, including the body-part HAND. The verse is engineered for Tesla density — appropriate for the moment of cross-handoff.

v5 is the resolution of David, Christ, and Stephen at one verse, by integer-superposition. Three speakers, one phrase, one set of gematria locks. The psalm doesn't contain the cross — it is the cross's transmission format.
The psalm's mechanism is multiple firings of the 174 sealed cap across the climax block (v21-v22):

What makes the cap "sealed" is that no whole verse in the KJV sums to exactly 174 — but Psa 31 explodes the cap into eleven phrase-level 174 hits within itself, all clustered around the climax. The psalm IS the sealed cap, distributed across its own body.

Stephen's death (Acts 7:59) is the only NT scene where a saint quotes Psa 31:5 back at Jesus. The original David spoke it of God; Jesus spoke it of the Father; Stephen, looking up at the risen Christ, addresses the LORD JESUS directly with the RECEIVE form.

The Stephen-handoff at integer: STEPHEN's name (87 = TRUTH) reflects v5's terminal divine title; STEPHEN SAID (120) reflects the superscription's CHIEF MUSICIAN; CALLING UPON GOD (150) reflects the climax STRONG CITY (v21). Stephen's death is gematria-engineered to complete Psa 31 in the new economy.
RECEIVE MY SPIRIT = 196 = 14² is a perfect square seal (followups A5), confirming that the receive form is the structural mirror to the commend form (Lk 23:46). David, Jesus, and Stephen each used a different form of the same verb — commit, commend, receive — and the integer landscape rewards each.
