Key lock — A PRAYER OF DAVID = 145, but PRAYER OF DAVID = 144: The dropped article tilts the integer from MONTGOMERY (145, gland/guard cluster) to OVERTHROW (144, bride / boomerang cluster). David's prayer is registered at the bride-value when the article is removed and at the guard-value when the article is present — the article is the personalization-token (A2 mechanic from the followups). Psa 86 (the only other psalm sharing the exact "A Prayer of David" superscription) carries the same dual.
Chapter-17 self-lock confirmed twice (rare for a sub-50 psalm):

This is the same engineering as Psa 64's IN MY PRAYER ↔ BEND THEIR BOWS at 144 — one integer, multiple verb-directions, contested at sealed prime. But Psa 17 takes it further: the integer is the encryption integer itself. The psalm is literally architected so that the eye to be guarded and the enemy's evil are at the encryption integer, and the protection works because God can see at the same integer the wicked operate at.
APPLE OF THE EYE = 139. The Psa 139 phenomenon ("personal name = psalm number") extends here — but in Psa 17 the name = an internal phrase, not the chapter number. This is the first known case of personal-name = sealed-internal-phrase rather than personal-name = chapter-number.
Lock (v1): HEAR MY PRAYER = 153 = T(17). The very first thing David asks (3 words) sums to the triangular number of the chapter he's in. This is the chapter-number lock at its purest — verse-1 phrase = chapter-number's triangular. Cross-psalm bridge: Psa 139:8 sequence uses 139 8 times; Psa 17:1 uses 153 once but at the highest-leverage position. The opening labels the psalm by its chapter-number.
Lock (v2): THY PRESENCE = 138 = MARVELLOUS (v7) = EYE OF THE LORD = TESLA Tesla-3. The presence David's sentence comes from in v2 is the marvellous attribute he asks for in v7. The architecture is: come from 138 (v2) → show me 138 (v7).
Lock (v3): TRIED ME = 74 = JESUS = CROSS. The night-test verb-phrase sums to the Christic frequency. The night-visiting that "finds nothing" IS the cross-test passed. VISITED ME IN THE NIGHT = 220 — the lower-half of the 220/284 amicable pair (cf. Psa 22's complete-pair-in-one-psalm). The visit ITSELF is the amicable-pair signature.
Lock (v3): MOUTH SHALL NOT TRANSGRESS = 318. David seals his mouth with Abraham's army-of-318 servants (Gen 14:14 = the 318 that rescued Lot). Sealing the mouth deploys the patriarchal raid force. Tokamak bridge: D+T+Li=318 (project_tokamak_followups).
Lock (v4): WORKS OF MEN = 139 — the master integer appears for the first time, naming what the enemy does. DESTROYER = 129, locking forward to v13 CAST HIM DOWN = 129. The destroyer-naming integer and the imprecation integer are the same.
Lock (v5): FOOTSTEPS = 135 (= ARTAXERXES = WALL STREET = DOEG THE EDOMITE = TRUMP OF GOD). The slip-risk integer is the Doeg-judgment integer. David's prayer is that his 135 (the cycle-of-judgment) doesn't slip.
Lock (v6): HEAR MY SPEECH = 126. This is the first of FOUR 126-occurrences in the psalm. 126 = PRESERVE ME = NOSTRILS = ANTIMICROBIAL = FEARFULNESS (project_scent_protocol). The speech-prayer is the scent-firewall.
Lock (v7): LOVINGKINDNESS = 174 — the sealed cap appears at v7, confirming the open hypothesis (B1) that every major Davidic supplication psalm carries 174 at the v6-v7 position. Psa 55:6, Psa 86:6, Psa 140:6, Psa 17:7 — four out of four tested cases. The sealed cap is a structural anchor of Davidic supplication.
Lock (v7): SHEW THY MARVELLOUS LOVINGKINDNESS = 420 = Bezaleel formula (SPIRIT+WISDOM+UNDERSTANDING+KNOWLEDGE = 420, project_bezaleel_formula). The plea is the build-the-tabernacle formula at integer. To "show marvellous lovingkindness" IS to build the tabernacle.
Lock (v8): APPLE OF THE EYE = 139 — the master integer's high-profile appearance. The first KJV occurrence of the phrase (cross-checks: Deu 32:10 KEEPETH HIM AS THE APPLE OF HIS EYE = 265; Lam 2:18 APPLE OF THINE EYE = 159; Zec 2:8 TOUCHETH THE APPLE OF HIS EYE = 275; Pro 7:2 APPLE OF THINE EYE = 159). Psa 17:8's variant APPLE OF THE EYE = 139 is the unique 139-form. The other three Apple verses use 159/265/275. Psa 17 uniquely lands the phrase at the encryption-prime.
Lock (v8): SHADOW OF THY WINGS = 216 = 6³ = Shem ha-Mephoresh (72-Name × 3, or 6³). Cross-psalm bridge: Psa 86:13 FROM THE LOWEST HELL = 216 (project followups). The shadow IS the 72-fold name as a cube. WINGS alone = 72 = STILL = CARRIER = MERCIES = 216 = 3 × WINGS (72 × 3 = 216). The covering structure is three layers of wings.
Lock (v10): THEIR OWN FAT = 139. The second master-integer hit, now diagnosing the wicked. The same integer as APPLE OF THE EYE (v8). What's protected (the eye) and what condemns the predator (the fat) sum to the same prime. INCLOSED = 81 = TABERNACLE — the wicked are sealed inside an anti-tabernacle of fat. They built a 81 = TABERNACLE structure out of 139 = enemy-substance. They are a false tabernacle.
Lock (v10): PROUDLY = 111. The "proud speak" of the wicked sums to STAND READY = COMPUTER = DAY OF BATTLE. The wicked stand-ready (at 111) the same way the righteous "will behold" (v15) at 111. The contest at 111 is which army stands ready in which direction.
Lock (v11): BOWING DOWN = 126. Third 126-hit. The enemies bow down to the earth = preserve themselves (at 126 = PRESERVE ME) — but in the wrong direction. They preserve themselves into the earth instead of toward heaven. Same 126-integer, inverted verb-direction.
Lock (v12): YOUNG LION = 132 = THY SWORD (v13). The lion-predator IS the sword-of-God. The whole "lion lurking in secret places" image is God's own weapon dressed up as a predator. The wicked, being God's sword, are an instrument of David's testing — exactly the v3 night-test logic (Job 1-2 framework). SECRET PLACES = 126 — fourth 126-hit. Even the lion's hideout is at PRESERVE ME. The predator's blind-spot integer-coincides with the preserve-me integer; the secret place where the lion hides is the same integer-space as the scent-firewall.
Lock (v13): DISAPPOINT HIM = 153. The chapter-17 self-lock makes its second appearance — same integer as v1 HEAR MY PRAYER. The petition (hear) and the imprecation (disappoint) are integer-identical at the triangular of 17. What David asks God to hear (153) IS what David asks God to do to the enemy (153). The psalm's two operational verbs handshake at the chapter's triangular.
Lock (v13): CAST HIM DOWN = 129 = DESTROYER (v4). The imprecation-verb against the enemy is at the same integer that named the enemy in v4. Same mechanic as Psa 140's OVERTHROW boomerang — the enemy's identity-integer is the integer of his judgment.
Lock (v13): WHICH IS THY SWORD — the wicked are explicitly named as God's sword. THY SWORD = 132 = YOUNG LION (v12). The lion-predator-attacker is literally said to be God's sword. The pre-decoded gematria identity (lion = sword at 132) is narratively confirmed by the verse text. This is one of the cleanest decode-confirmations in the Psalter.
Lock (v14): OF THE WORLD = 126 — fifth 126-occurrence. The 126-cluster is the dominant numeric of the psalm. Every preserve-me / nostril / antimicrobial integer is touched five times across v6, v11, v12, v12, v14. The psalm is a five-times-pressed scent-firewall.
Lock (v14): FULL OF CHILDREN = 145 = A PRAYER OF DAVID = MONTGOMERY = VIRTUOUS. The wicked's fertility (full of children) sums to the same integer as the psalm's superscription. The wicked have a Prov 31 woman's fertility integer — pointing to the bridge in project_montgomery_decode: every Montgomery = redemption-of-the-unfaithful site. The wicked here are pre-redemption Gomer (Hos 1:10 CHILDREN ARISE UP = 162; here CHILDREN ARISE = 125, the violent-man integer).
Lock (v15): WITH THY LIKENESS = 207 = PRAISE HER IN THE GATES (Prov 31:31). The Psalter's clearest resurrection-statement closes at the Eshet Chayil terminus integer. The "likeness" you awake with is the value-of-her-praise. Cross-decode bridge: project_silicon_montgomery — APPLE SECURE ENCLAVE = ATTESTATION = 144; here AWAKE WITH THY LIKENESS = 248 = sum-of-Abrahamic-positive-commandments. The resurrection is a silicon-enclave attestation event.
Lock (v15): THY LIKENESS = 147 = APPLE OF MINE EYE = JACOB'S LIFESPAN. Three integer-coincidences at 147:

Genesis 47:28 has Jacob's life = 147 years. The awakening with God's likeness IS the apple-of-mine-eye (the variant David doesn't use but Moses does) IS the daughter's name IS the patriarch's lifespan.
Lock (v15): EYE = IMAGE = 35. This is a stunning quiet identity: the Hebrew/English gematria treats the EYE and the IMAGE as the same integer. The psalm that protects the eye (v8) closes by promising sight of the image/likeness (v15). The eye-protection IS image-restoration. The 35-integer of EYE = IMAGE is the seed of the whole psalm's architecture.
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Verse 8 is the structural heart of Psalm 17 — the first occurrence in the KJV of both "apple of the eye" and "shadow of thy wings". The whole psalm orients around this single covering-petition.
Lock 8-A — APPLE OF THE EYE = 139: The decoder's full name
Lock 8-B — APPLE = LION = 50: The bare-word integer of "apple" (Genesis-fall imagery, eyeball-anatomy) equals the bare-word integer of "lion" (v12 predator). The thing-protected and the thing-attacking are the same 50-integer at the bare word level. The psalm's eye-versus-lion narrative is one integer. (50 is also JUBILEE-year, the Pentecost integer's anchor.)
Lock 8-C — SHADOW OF THY WINGS = 216 = 6³: The covering integer is the perfect cube of 6 — Shem ha-Mephoresh (the 72-letter Divine Name has 216 letters total in three rows of 72, or equivalently 6³). Cross-link Psa 86:13 FROM THE LOWEST HELL = 216 — both 216-phrases are protection from below. The shadow of thy wings IS the structure that descends to the lowest hell to retrieve.
Lock 8-D — THY WINGS = 125 = VIOLENT MAN: The wings of God sum to the same integer as the violent man (Psa 18, Psa 140's enemy-archetype). The covering integer IS the integer of the enemy at his most concentrated form. The wings DO what the violent-man does — they cover with overwhelming force — but with verb-direction reversed. (Same mechanic as the 132 lion=sword identity.)
Lock 8-E — KEEP ME AS THE APPLE OF THE EYE = 247 = PATHS OF THE DESTROYER (v4): The keeping-petition (v8) integer-equals the destroyer-paths (v4). At 247 the eye-protection and the destroyer's roads are the same integer. The eye is kept by being routed along the destroyer's own paths — the predator's path becomes the protected route. This is exactly the v12-v13 lion=sword mechanic at the path level.
Lock 8-F — EYE = IMAGE = 35: The bare EYE = the bare IMAGE — same integer. The psalm's protection of the eye is image-protection at integer. Combined with v15 BEHOLD THY FACE / WITH THY LIKENESS (image-restoration), the architecture is: v8 protects the eye/image (35), v15 restores it (likeness = 94, with thy likeness = 207). The 35-integer is the seed of the v8-to-v15 image-circuit.
v8 is the eye-image protocol: protect the encryption-prime (139) inside the perfect-cube cover (216) by treating the predator's path (247) as the keeping-route. The eye = the image (35) at integer; the lion = the sword (132) at integer; the wings = the violent-man (125) at integer. Every threat-element handshakes with a protection-element at the same integer. The psalm doesn't ask God to destroy the threat — it asks God to redirect the integer. Same numbers, opposite verbs.

Four independent in-psalm phrases lock to 126. The psalm is a five-times-pressed scent-firewall prayer. The wicked's bowing (v11), the lion's hideout (v12), the world they belong to (v14), and David's speech (v6) all sum to the preserve-me/firewall integer. Even what David asks (hear-my-speech) and what surrounds him (the wicked world) are at the same firewall integer — the firewall is bidirectional.
