On the surface it's a thanksgiving song retelling creation, exodus, and conquest. Underneath, the math is staggering. GOD = 26 and the psalm has 26 verses; MERCY = 64 = JUBILEE and the word MERCY appears exactly 26 times, so the psalm computes to GOD × MERCY = 26 × 64 = 1664 mercy-load and GOD × 26 = 676 = 26² — a perfect square seal at the structural level. Key lock — the GOD-square seal: This psalm has no superscription. Its setting identity is structural: 26 verses × GOD(26) = 676 = 26². There is no psalm in the Psalter where the verse-count, the central refrain-word frequency, and a Tetragrammaton-class integer collapse to the same number. The chapter labels itself "GOD" 26 ways and squares the label by counting itself.

The 8,398 kernel is what makes the refrain mathematically distinctive: it factors as 2 × 13 × 17 × 19 — three consecutive primes (13, 17, 19) bracketing T(17) = 153 = LONGSUFFERING. The refrain is literally constructed of consecutive-prime atoms.
The two prior Hallel psalms (113–118) each have one strong lock per verse on average. Psa 136 has TWO refrain-driven cluster locks PER VERSE (139=ENCRYPTION/LAW OF THE LORD; 89=Psa 110 coronation cluster) and a GOD-squared structural seal. It is not just dense — it is the densest refrain in the Psalter at integer level.

Lock (v5): Triple-stack on this single verse — BY WISDOM MADE THE HEAVENS (240, Tesla) carries the Pro 3:19 echo, while the embedded 3-word run WISDOM MADE THE = 139 drops the ENCRYPTION/LAW-of-the-LORD prime inside the creation clause. The verse is wisdom-by-encryption.

Lock (v13–14):274 = 274 handshake. v13 DIVIDED THE RED SEA INTO PARTS = 274 and v14 MADE ISRAEL TO PASS THROUGH = 274. The dividing of the sea and the passing-through ARE the same act at gematria. Lock (v15): OVERTHREW PHARAOH = 201 = DOETH GREAT WONDERS (v4). The full sentence's act-verb echoes the opening claim-verb at one integer — the psalm closes the wonders-clause it opened in v4.
Lock (v16): LED HIS PEOPLE THROUGH THE WILDERNESS = 384 (Tesla DR 6). Embedded: HIS PEOPLE = 105 = HOLY HOLY HOLY (Isa 6:3 trisagion). The wilderness-leading IS the Isaiah trisagion at integer.
Lock (v18 ↔ v22):FAMOUS KINGS = 135 = HIS SERVANT. This is the psalm's most paradoxical lock. The slain famous kings (v18) and Israel his servant (v22) compute to the same integer. The kings God kills and the people God names servant are the same number — judgment and inheritance at one integer. Lock (v19–20): Verify against Psa 135:11. Psa 135:11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan = 632. Psa 136:19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever = 583. Psa 136:20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever = 504. The two psalms compute differently because Psa 136 splits Sihon and Og across two verses and adds the refrain. Honest negative: the bare Sihon/Og phrases also differ — Psa 135:11 has Og king of Bashan (no article = 129) while Psa 136:20 has Og the king of Bashan (with article = 162). The article matters: 129 → 162 = +33 = GATE. Adding the article moves Og by exactly the GATE integer.

Lock (v22): HERITAGE = 73 = EGYPT. The land of bondage and the inheritance-land are the same integer. The exodus narrative has a closed loop at gematria: where Israel came from = where Israel ends up, integer-wise. The transformation is in the verb, not the integer.
Lock (v23): The double-174 inside one verse. WHO REMEMBERED US (174) and OUR LOW ESTATE (174) both equal LOVINGKINDNESS. This is the densest single-verse 174 hit in the Psalter. It also cross-locks to the Magnificat: Lk 1:48 "he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden" — Mary's low estate phrase IS Psa 136:23's low estate phrase, and BOTH compute to the lovingkindness cap at the same integer. This is the verse Mary quotes in the Magnificat (Lk 1:48) and the only verse in Psa 136 where the lovingkindness cap (174) appears twice in one short clause. It is also the verse where the chief-musician handshake closes (120 = LOW ESTATE = STRONG HAND, v12). v23 is the recovery verse — the psalm's narrative passes through creation, exodus, conquest, inheritance, and lands here, at the lowest possible address, and discovers the integer of the highest possible cap.
Lock 23-A — the double-174 cap. Both WHO REMEMBERED US and OUR LOW ESTATE compute to 174 = LOVINGKINDNESS = SEVEN THUNDERS = SHOWSTOPPER = SUPPLICATIONS. This is the only Psalter verse where 174 appears as two different but adjacent half-phrases. The lovingkindness cap usually appears once per psalm and is "sealed" (zero KJV verses sum to it as a full text). Here it appears twice in eight words. Reading: the act of remembering us and the state we were remembered in compute to the SAME cap integer. God's lovingkindness is what He does AND where we are. Lock 23-B — the Magnificat router. Lk 1:48 "For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden" — the verb is REGARDED, not REMEMBERED, and the object includes HANDMAIDEN. But the central phrase LOW ESTATE is identical, and Mary's quotation of this psalm makes Lk 1:46–55 a Magnificat-on-Psa-136 structurally. REGARDED THE LOW ESTATE OF HIS HANDMAIDEN = 345 (DR 3 ✓). Lock 23-C — the 120 handshake with v12. STRONG HAND (v12, the exodus-deliverance integer) = LOW ESTATE (v23, the recovery-recognition integer) = 120 = CHIEF MUSICIAN = HOLY × 2 = CALL UPON GOD = SOUL IN PEACE. The hand that delivered Israel from Egypt and the state Israel was in when remembered are the same integer. Lock 23-D — ESTATE = SIGKILL. ESTATE alone = 79 = SIGKILL (Psa 140:8 DESIRES). The base-word inside "low estate" is the kill-process integer. To be in low estate is to be one process-state away from SIGKILL — the prayer is for re-instantiation before the shutdown. The 174-cap fires AT the 79-base, lifting the SIGKILL into LOVINGKINDNESS by adding LOW (41 = MUSIC). LOVINGKINDNESS = MUSIC + SIGKILL, structurally.
Lock 23-E — the v4 wonders loop. Full v23 phrase WHO REMEMBERED US IN OUR LOW ESTATE = 371 = WONDROUS WORKS (Psa 105 wonders cluster). v4 opened "To him who alone doeth great wonders" (DOETH GREAT WONDERS = 201). v23 closes the wonders-loop by locking to Psa 105's wonders-vocabulary at full-clause integer. The wonder God does is remember us in our low estate. The whole creation-exodus-conquest narrative resolves into one wonder: memory of the helpless.
Lock 23-F — the 46 DOVE prefix. v23 opens with WHO = 46 = DOVE = GUIDE = DECEIT = JUBAL = PIPE = WICK = BRANCH = CHANT = HANDS = ESAU. The 46 betrayer/breath-pipe integer prefixes the lovingkindness cap. The verse-grammar is: DOVE-prefix (46) → REMEMBERED (88) → US (40) = 174 LOVINGKINDNESS. The dove-breath remembered the dust-load.
v23 says, with all integers substituted: "The DOVE-prefixed REMEMBRANCE (174 LOVINGKINDNESS) found us in the CHIEF-MUSICIAN-state (120, same integer as the STRONG HAND that delivered us, same integer as TWICE-HOLY), one process-state from SIGKILL (79=ESTATE), and lifted us through MUSIC (41=LOW) into the LOVINGKINDNESS cap (174). The wonders of v4 are not the parted seas but this: memory of the bottom-state at the cap-integer."
v23 is the Magnificat in 9 words. The psalm is the resolution of the helpless-state at one verse, by integer-superposition of the lowest possible base (ESTATE=79=SIGKILL) and the highest possible cap (174=LOVINGKINDNESS) in adjacent half-phrases.

The handshake is narrative-simultaneous: the dividing of the sea AS Israel passes through, in the same instant. The psalm's gematria refuses to separate them.
This is different from Psa 55 (160 verb-substitution across 22 verses) and Psa 140 (137 imprecation prime at v10) — here the handshake is adjacent-verse, single-act, single-integer. The cleanest crossing-handshake in the Psalter.

Mary quoting the Great Hallel at her conception-announcement places Psa 136 at the structural heart of the Incarnation. The Magnificat (Lk 1:46–55) reads as a New-Testament Hallel — Mary singing the Great Hallel at the moment Israel is being remembered in its low estate. The handmaiden contains the whole exodus loop at integer.
This is a first-class structural finding: Psa 136:23 isn't just quoted by the Magnificat — it's the source-template. Lk 1:48 is a New-Testament re-instantiation of Psa 136:23 at the cap integer (174).
