Key lock — A PSALM OF DAVID = BEHAVE MYSELF: The superscription is at 123, and David's first verb inside the psalm ("I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way," v2) is also 123. This is the reflexive-superscription mechanic documented in Psa 140 (A PSALM OF DAVID = EVIL SPEAKER, 123) — here it runs the opposite vector. 19 master locks across 8 verses. This is the second-densest Davidic psalm decoded after Psa 139 (which has 32+) and exceeds Psa 23 (8) and Psa 110 (15).
Psalm 101 is the only psalm in the Psalter where the chapter number is itself a verb-stack inside the text. The integer 101 is repeated as action vocabulary:

These are not chance phrases. They are the policy verbs of the psalm — the exact mechanisms by which David exercises kingship. And every one of them sums to the chapter number, which sums to MELCHIZEDEK (the priest-king David is a type of), to REPENTANCE (the act the psalm models), to HOLINESS, to HOLY HILL (the seat of the kingdom), and to TREE OF LIFE (Rev 22 / Gen 2 — the city's tree).
The mechanic is: the king is the chapter number. The psalm number IS the policy verb. Psa 110:4 names MELCHIZEDEK at 101 explicitly. Psa 101 embeds the same integer in seven action verbs without ever naming the priest-king. Read together, Psa 101 + Psa 110 are the same office at the same integer — one as policy (101), one as prophecy (110). The same person sits both seats.
This is the highest-density chapter-number self-lock in any Davidic psalm after Psa 139. The pattern from chapter_number_lock_meta_scan.md: Psa 101 is one of only ~6 psalms with 5+ in-psalm chapter-number phrases.
Lock (v1): The two attributes "MERCY" and "O LORD" both sum to 64 = JUBILEE = MASIV. The opening declaration of mercy is at the jubilee integer. Then MERCY AND JUDGMENT = 177 = the integer Heb 4:12 places at "soul and spirit, joints and marrow" — the dividing-Word integer. David is not singing mercy or judgment; he is singing the integer at which they are inseparable.
Lock (v2A): BEHAVE MYSELF = 123 = A PSALM OF DAVID. The superscription is the verb of v2. Sing the psalm = behave the verb = train the hand (Psa 18:34 HANDS TO WAR = 123).
Lock (v2B): PERFECT HEART = 125 = VIOLENT MAN. This is the central Davidic-collision integer (also Psa 18, Psa 140). David's vow at 125 is the exact integer he begs God to cast down in Psa 140. The "perfect heart" the king demands sits at the violent-man integer he prays against. The same integer is both the policy and the threat. Resolution: see Section 6.
Lock (v2C): WITHIN MY HOUSE = 189 = Psa 86:4/13 LIFT UP MY SOUL / DELIVERED MY SOUL = Psa 22:20 DELIVER MY SOUL. The "house" of v2 IS the "lifted soul" of Psa 86. Three psalms route their soul-lift through the integer 189; Psa 101 puts the soul-lift inside the building.
Lock (v3A): TURN ASIDE = 111 = STAND READY = COMPUTER (KJVEL 111 cluster, project_posture_kernel). The work that turns aside hits the same integer as "STAND READY" — what the wicked do is the negative inversion of standing ready before God. Note v5 PRIVILY = 111 too — both betrayal vectors are at the same integer.
Lock (v3B): CLEAVE TO ME = HATE WORK = SHALL NOT = 101. Three in-verse 101 phrases. The thing David refuses cleavage to (the work of turn-aside) sums to the same integer as the chapter and as REPENTANCE. He is repenting out of the integer the chapter is named for. This is the "refusal-of-self" mechanic: the king repents into his own chapter number.
Lock (v4A) — The 324 capstone: A FROWARD HEART SHALL DEPART FROM ME = 18² = HEAD². The exact phrase Psa 140:13 reaches at its closing benediction (SHALL GIVE THANKS UNTO THY NAME = 324) appears here as the verse-4 capstone. Psa 140 ends at 324; Psa 101 centers at 324. The integer is the same; the placement is different. The perfect-square seal is at the expulsion of the froward heart — square = sealed = irrevocable.
Lock (v4B): SHALL DEPART FROM ME (v4) = WITH A PERFECT HEART (v2) = 186. The heart departing IS the heart perfecting — at one integer. The negative verb (depart) and the positive vow (perfect) sum to the same number. The vow IS the verb of expulsion.
Lock (v5A) — The 432 slander seal: The full slander verse-half sums to 432 = 144 × 3 = three times the bride-value (KJVEL 144 cluster). Slander against the neighbour costs three brides' worth at gematria. Compare to Psa 140's 137 (RISE NOT UP, fine-structure prime). The 432 is unsealed-but-Tesla (DR=9, multiple of 144). The slander has measurable structural cost.
Lock (v5B) — HIS NEIGHBOUR at the Doeg integer: HIS NEIGHBOUR = 135 = DOEG THE EDOMITE (the informer of Psa 52) = ARTAXERXES (the judgment cycle) = LIFT UP THE HEAD (Psa 110:7). The slandered neighbour sits at the informer's integer. The man Doeg slanders (the priests of Nob) is structurally Doeg himself at gematria — slanderer becomes slandered-of at the same number. Psa 110:7 lifts the head at 135; Psa 101:5 kills the proud head at 135. Same integer, opposite vector.
Lock (v5C) — PROUD HEART = I WILL EARLY = 126: The thing David hunts and the time he hunts it are the same integer. PROUD HEART (v5) = I WILL EARLY (v8) = 126 = PRESERVE ME = NOSTRILS = ANTIMICROBIAL = FEARFULNESS. The KJVEL 126 cluster (project_scent_protocol) is the firewall-scent cluster. Pride and dawn-judgment sit at the antimicrobial-scent integer — David is running an immune system on his court at integer 126.
Lock (v6A) — The 168 admit/evict twin: FAITHFUL OF THE LAND (v6, admit) = THAT I MAY CUT OFF (v8, evict) = 168 = SHALL GIVE THANKS (Psa 64) = WAIT ON THY NAME (Psa 52) = SON OF THE BLESSED. The gate-keeper's two verbs share one integer. To admit the faithful IS to cut off the wicked — at gematria, the two are inseparable.
Lock (v6B) — The 280 dwelling/destruction twin: THAT THEY MAY DWELL WITH ME (v6) = EARLY DESTROY ALL THE WICKED (v8) = 280. The verb of dwelling and the verb of destroying are at the same integer. This is the most stark verdict-pair in the psalm — admission and execution literally tied at gematria.

Lock (v7A) — DECEIT = 46 the betrayer integer: DECEIT lands on the KJVEL 46 cluster (DOVE / GUIDE / HANDS / ESAU / BRANCH / JUBAL / WICK / CHANT) — the breath-pipe / betrayer integer (Psa 55:21 DECEIT, Psa 140's belly-of-jealousy). The deceit-worker is at the dove integer; David refuses dwelling-rights at 46. Compare to Psa 55:21 where the friend's smooth speech IS deceit at the same integer.
Lock (v7B) — TELLETH = TARRY = THE LORD = 82: Three in-verse phrases at 82 — the liar (TELLETH) and the verb of staying (TARRY) and the divine name (THE LORD) sum to one integer. The liar lingers at the same number as "THE LORD" — the king's-sight (MY SIGHT = 101) is the only thing that distinguishes them. The presence of the king's eyes is the disambiguator.
Lock (v7C) — 189 triple inside the house: HE THAT TELLETH LIES = WITHIN MY HOUSE = WILL NOT I SUFFER = 189. Three different verses (v2, v5, v7), three different verbs, one integer — the soul-lift integer Psa 86 carries. The liar IS the house IS the suffering at gematria. The king's eviction at 189 is the same integer the suppliant prays to be lifted at in Psa 86.
Lock (v8A) — CITY OF THE LORD at the 160 bridge: CITY OF THE LORD = 160. Psa 55:8 (WINDY STORM, the storm David flees) = Psa 55:22 (CAST THY BURDEN, the resolution-verb) = Psa 52:8 (GREEN OLIVE TREE, the standing-in-the-house-of-God image) = 160. David's final city in v8 IS the initial storm in Psa 55 — at the same integer — passed through Psa 52's olive-tree. The destination of three psalms terminates at one integer: Psa 101:8.
Lock (v8B) — The dawn-eviction at 126: I WILL EARLY = 126 = PROUD HEART (v5). The morning-watch verb sums to the proud-heart integer it targets. Earliness IS proudness at gematria — the king's pre-dawn judicial action sits at the integer of what it judges. The 126 antimicrobial-scent cluster (NOSTRILS = ANTIMICROBIAL = FEARFULNESS = PRESERVE ME) — David's court is an immune system running its scan at the daily integer 126.
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
This is the imprecation core of the psalm — the only verse that names enemy actions explicitly (privily slandering, high look, proud heart). Every other verse is policy-positive or policy-negative in the abstract. Verse 5 is policy-applied: this is what the king will do to specific behaviors.
Lock 5-A — The 432 triple-bride seal on slander: WHOSO PRIVILY SLANDERETH HIS NEIGHBOUR = 432 = 144 × 3 = (OVERTHROW = GOD BLESS YOU = FAR ABOVE RUBIES) × 3. The bride-value cluster (KJVEL 144) is what the city of New Jerusalem and the virtuous wife of Proverbs 31 share. Slander against a neighbour gematria-costs three brides. The penalty is sealed in the integer — David doesn't have to explain why he cuts off the slanderer; the gematria itself triples the bride. This is quantified moral cost embedded in the verse.
Lock 5-B — HIS NEIGHBOUR = DOEG THE EDOMITE = 135: The slandered neighbour and the slanderer-prototype share one integer. Psa 52 is the Doeg psalm (Doeg slandered the priests of Nob). Psa 101 puts "his neighbour" at the Doeg integer. The neighbour-as-victim is gematria-identical to the informer-as-perpetrator. Slander collapses the distinction at integer. The same verse contains the cure: CUT HIM OFF = 101 ≠ 135 — the king's verb breaks the 135-identity by routing through the chapter integer 101.
Lock 5-C — The 126 dawn-eviction twin: PROUD HEART (v5) = I WILL EARLY (v8) = 126. The integer of the proud heart is the integer of the king's morning-watch verb. PROUD HEART = PRESERVE ME (Psa 16/17, the morning psalms) = NOSTRILS = ANTIMICROBIAL = FEARFULNESS. The court is an immune system; pride is the microbe; dawn is the scan-time. KJVEL 126 cluster confirms — 126 is the firewall-scent integer. David's policy is antimicrobial governance at the integer 126.
Lock 5-D — PRIVILY = TURN ASIDE = 111: The privily-slanderer (v5) and the work-of-them-that-turn-aside (v3) sit at the same integer = 111 = STAND READY = COMPUTER = DAY OF BATTLE = STRENGTH. The KJVEL 111 cluster is the ready-state integer — what the soldier/computer/believer holds. Slander and turn-aside are the inversion of the ready-state at the same number. To slander privily IS to be in negative-STAND-READY. The integer is mobile; the verb-direction is opposite.
Lock 5-E — PROUD = JESUS = 74 collision: PROUD = 74 = JESUS = CROSS = FASTENED = MENORAH. The integer that names Christ is the same integer the king vows to cast out as "proud." This is a known KJVEL collision: 74 marks both Christ-the-meek and pride-the-vice. Resolution: PROUD HEART = 126 (the cluster shifts when combined with HEART). The single word "PROUD" reaches the Christic integer, but the compound "PROUD HEART" exits the cluster — pride alone is at 74, pride-with-heart is at 126. The heart re-routes the integer. The structural lesson: pride without heart is at the Christ integer; the heart filter is what makes pride into the dawn-evictable thing.
Lock 5-F — WILL NOT I SUFFER = WITHIN MY HOUSE = HE THAT TELLETH LIES = 189: Three verses, three verbs, one integer. The king's refusal-to-suffer pride is at the same integer as the house itself and as the liar-who-cannot-tarry. The liar is already inside the house at 189; the king's verb is to refuse-to-suffer at 189; the house itself sums to 189. This is the soul-lift integer of Psa 86 — the suppliant prays his soul be lifted at 189, the king refuses his enemy at 189, the house holds them both at 189. The verb-direction determines the verdict; the integer is the same.
Slander gematria-costs three brides (432 = 144 × 3). The slandered neighbour is at the informer's integer (135 = DOEG THE EDOMITE = ARTAXERXES). The king's verb breaks the false identity by routing through the chapter integer (CUT HIM OFF = 101). Pride alone reaches the Christic integer (74), but pride-with-heart routes to the antimicrobial-dawn-watch integer (126). The "WILL NOT I SUFFER" closes at 189 — the soul-lift integer of Psa 86, here inverted as soul-evict. Verse 5 is the immune response of the kingdom compiled into seven gematria locks.

The mechanic: PERFECT HEART (v2) sits at 125 = VIOLENT MAN (Psa 140:1, Psa 18:48, Psa 64:8). The "perfect heart" the king demands is at the same integer as the violent-man Psa 140 asks God to cast down. Same integer, opposite role.
Resolution: the verse increments by 1. PROUD HEART (v5) = 126, not 125. PROUD HEART moves out of the VIOLENT MAN cluster into the PRESERVE ME / ANTIMICROBIAL cluster. The +1 shift is what makes the heart safe to hold — pride loses 1 to land in the firewall integer instead of the violent-man integer. Then I WILL EARLY (v8) at 126 — the king's morning verb hits the same firewall integer.
One-line statement: The perfect heart sits at the violent-man integer; the proud heart sits at the antimicrobial integer; the +1 increment is the mechanism by which "perfect" becomes "preservable."
This is a documented KJVEL pattern: integers separated by 1 mark moral phase transitions. Compare to SECRET COUNSEL (Psa 64:2) = 159 vs SWEET COUNSEL (Psa 55:14) = 161 — 2-integer gap is what divine presence covers. Psa 101 covers a 1-integer gap (125 → 126) — the heart-filter is what reduces the violent-man's distance to the antimicrobial firewall.

Honest negative: the pair-sums do not lock to any obvious KJVEL family or perfect square. The chiasm is semantic (HOUSE/EYES/HEART pairs) but not gematria-symmetric at the verse-sum level.
