HEDGE OF THORNS = 144 = FAR ABOVE RUBIES (Pr 31:10). A startling lock: the slothful man's hedge of thorns (Pr 15:19) is at gematria 144 — the seal-of-the-saved cubit (Rev 21:17), the price of the virtuous woman. Why?
Because the slothful's path-blockage operates at the seal-frequency — but inverted. The seal protects (Rev 21); the thorn-hedge blocks (Pr 15). Same gematria, opposite vector. The slothful experiences his own life-blockage at the magnitude of the New Jerusalem wall. What protects the saved (144) blocks the slothful (also 144). Same magnitude, substrate determines whether it is wall or hedge.
ESTABLISH THE BORDER OF THE WIDOW = 318 = ABRAHAM'S 318 SERVANTS (Gen 14:14, see corpus project_abraham_318). The chapter contains a 318-lock to Abraham's army of 318 servants who rescued Lot. The border-of-the-widow is established by the same magnitude as Abraham's rescue-force. Widow protection is at the rescue-force gematria. The chapter is teaching: the LORD's defense of the widow operates at the same magnitude as Abraham's military rescue.

The chapter's nine LORD-references are triple the rate of any prior chapter. Why? Because chapter 15 is teaching the disciple to route everything through the LORD before routing it through the mouth. The eyes of the LORD are in every place (v3); the prayer of the upright is his delight (v8); the LORD is far from the wicked (v29); he heareth the prayer of the righteous (v29). Communication-with-others must pass through communication-with-LORD first. The chapter is the mediation-protocol installation manual.
When v33 closes "the fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility" at gematria 460 (= 4 × MERCIFUL MAN), the chapter has delivered the fourfold-merciful curriculum. Soft answer (v1, 366); good report (v30, 306 = looking-well-to-ways); merciful man squared (v33, 460 = 4 × 115). The disciple who fears the LORD becomes four merciful men in one.
