SIMEON = HOSTAGE = 75. Genesis 42:24: "and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes." When Joseph plays out his judgment scene on the brothers, he selects Simeon to be bound. Why would Moses omit Simeon? Three converging answers in the text:
The silence is not rejection. It is implicit inclusion under Judah's blessing. Simeon's missing blessing is Judah's blessing — the cursed tribe gets covered by the scepter tribe. The corpus encodes forgiveness as absorption, not acquittal.
Jacob's birth order: Reuben (1), Simeon (2), Levi (3), Judah (4), ... Moses's order: Reuben (33:6), Judah (33:7), Levi (33:8), Benjamin (33:12), ... Moses replaces Simeon in the 2nd slot with Judah. Genesis 34:25: "it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi... took each man his sword." THIRD DAY = 74 = JESUS. The phrase marking the Shechem massacre's timing is the same gematria as the Resurrection's timing. Simeon perpetrates a reverse-resurrection on the third day — a mass killing where Christ will perform a mass raising. The corpus sets up an inverse: both events hinge on the third day, one reveals darkness in the hostage-tribe, the other reveals light. The number 74 is the hinge.
DINAH = 36 = HEARD. Simeon's name means "heard" (from Leah's "God heard I was hated"). DINAH's gematria is the verb in her brother's name. When Dinah is defiled, the sister whose gematria is Simeon's meaning triggers Simeon's rage. The sister-as-verb-of-the-brother mechanism: whatever is done to Dinah (HEARD) is done to Simeon's essence. This is why Simeon's response is absolute — his gematria-verb has been violated.
Joseph, now Egyptian vizier, hears his brothers describe their guilt over him (Gen 42:21). Then: "he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes."
Why Simeon specifically? Not Reuben (the firstborn, who actually tried to save Joseph in Gen 37:21). Not Judah (who proposed selling rather than killing). Simeon — the one who would have killed. I BEAR UP THE PILLARS = 192 (DR=3 Tesla). In the same verse as "dissolved," God declares He bears the pillars. Simeon's son JACHIN was named for a temple pillar (1 Ki 7:21). The closing image — horns — is the tribal-strength symbol across Scripture (e.g., Ezek 34:21, Dan 7-8). Simeon's horn was cut off (no blessing, no territory, absorption). But the psalm promises the righteous horn shall be exalted. This is the eschatological promise embedded in the tribe's Psalm-pointer: the unblessed horn will be exalted at the end. The arc: name-is-near (psalm opening) → judge-uprightly (thesis) → pillars-borne (architecture) → horn-exalted (closure). Simeon's psalm is a judicial rehabilitation liturgy. The psalm the gematria points to is literally the court scene where Simeon is vindicated.
